Will Ferrell, Ricky Gervais, and Will Arnett are all set to be guests on the show before the season ends, but I have not heard that any of them are staying for more than one or two episodes. I guess we'll all find out soon! I pick Will Arnett

Well I'm glad to hear this week's episode was good! I was not able to see it. I have loved The Office since it began and I was very disappointed in this season so far. In fact, I deleted my "auto-record" on my DVR for it....the end of an era. I would love to see it go out with a bang and not a whimper.

I LOVED LOVED this last episode!! It was the best episode this season IMO. I had heard a rumor about Danny McBride and I think he would be an awesome replacement ---- though hes got his own hilarious and inappropriate show on HBO.

It was pretty good. I liked how the description of Pam/Jim's engagement underwhelmed Michael without really hurting their feelings. (Basically that it was one of those moments that doesn't translate well and they mostly accepted that)

Possible downside Ryan was in it more than I'd like. (There was one scene it was good to have him) I mean I don't know if Ryan was too much of a jerk in this one, but I kind of want his character to just go away at this point. I'm not even sure if season one Michael was as unlikable as Ryan became and I think his character would find still working their humiliating.

I agree about Ryan...ick.

Since I didn't DVR the episode I watched it via Itunes and it was a delight. Such a nice surprise after a very lackluster season.

I had read on a few other message boards it was only for a few episodes - that Will Ferrell is from "corporate" and there for the transition period but isnt the permanent replacement.

I think he would be a great replacement! I guess we will have to wait and see how it goes.

I really felt like they are doing a good job of sending Michael off - so far at least. It wasnt totally unbelievable or far fetched like some other long running shows have done to their main or anchor characters. (Eric Foreman moving to Africa? Srsly???)

Enjoyed this recent episode. What a very Michael and apropos proposal!

Not sure about Will Ferrell as his replacement, temp or perm. He's funny in his own right, but too similar. The show needs a totally different style of Regional Manager to get a breath of fresh air. Ricky Gervais is the right style of actor...so who is his American counterpart?

Default The Office with Will Ferrell

I have to say I enjoyed Will Ferrell on The Office last night. He makes a more believable boss, especially in the way he sees through the various kissing up that some of the people were trying.

I'd like to see a plot where they bring back Toby -- as an HR assistant that Will Ferrell really likes. I'd like to see what Toby would be like with a boss who isn't sabotaging him and being chronically cruel, and instead gives him confidence. I think they could have fun with that. Maybe they could have them smoking a joint together as a reference to one of Michael's sabotages. Plus, I'd love to have Michael and Holly visit, see Toby, go nuts about it, and then have the more confident Toby give Michael the smack down he's deserved for awhile.
