I have always liked her (Color Purple - wow) but she always interjects herself too much. I mean she went to all the trouble of building two Mary Tyler Moore sets for that reunion show but each character only got one sentence to talk. Then Oprah trying to sing with Cher and Tina -- tooo much!
I think she is making a big mistake boycotting Palin from her show.

i like oprah. i do believe that she has done great things and shared her wealth with many. i'm sure there are times that she is full of herself but do believe all the good she does outweighs the bad. i didn't watch that reality give away show that was on mainly because i'm not into shows like that.
i am curious what your opinion of her is...or did i miss it?

I remember her from Channel 13 in Baltimore growing up. She did a show called People are Talking with a co-host Richard Sher. When I left Maryland last year, I think he was still working there. I always wondered what his opinion of her is.

Most of the money / items she is giving away on her show has been donated by businesses or other organizations. Its laughable that people thinks she came out of pocket to give away all those G6 pontiacs.

I'm not an Oprah worshipper, but I like her and think she does a lot of good. I do think she has too much influence over a certain segment of our population but that's not her fault. She has topics and interviews that I find enjoyable from time to time.

oprah
Oprah is a whinner, makes her money off of victims. you either have to be one, was one or going to be one. If you like to cry or feel sorry for yourself, maybe don't have a job or don't want one. I'm sure you will like her.

Once upon a time I watched her show almost daily. She grated on my nerves at times; when she fawned over some guests and constantly interrupted others. I quit watching 4+ years ago when her "friend" Gayle threw that "O"stentatious 50th birthday extravaganza. And then her "Live your best life" tour where the people who loved and worshipped her most couldn't even afford to attend. Ugh. She appeared to be awfully full of herself. One of the last shows I remember watching was when she went to Africa and was interviewing a woman suffering from AIDS. Oprah actually had the audacity to put on a fake (and ridiculous) African accent when speaking with her and others in the village. That was the end for me.
I know that she has helped many people. But I just can't stand to watch her anymore.
