Default "Shatner's Raw Nerve"

Anyone else watch this new series last night? They have back to back half-hour episodes, starting at 10 pm Eastern on the Biography Channel.

I was pleasantly surprised, actually. I'm a big Shatner fan from 'Boston Legal' (well, okay, I admit it, I used to watch Star Trek too, back in the day!) so I was curious to see what he'd do with this new vehicle.

It reminds me a lot of the old Dick Cavett show (hopefully there are others here old enough to remember that) which was a simple one-on-one of the host and ONE guest for the entire show. No offstage bands, no cue cards, no live audience, no media clips, no star's self-promotion of their new movie or book or whathaveyou; just the host and the guest candidly talking about personal reactions and events in their life. And that's what Shatner is doing: Asking a question and letting the guest run with the answers. It was refreshingly simple and enjoyable.

At the half-hour format it actually leaves you wishing the show was a bit longer. I'm pretty sure the Cavett show was an hour but I'm not sure if it started out that way at first.

Anyway, we liked 'Raw Nerve' (though the series name seems a bit weird) and I'm wondering what others thought about it.

I wanted to watch it but I didn't think my husband would be into it. I tivo'd the "Why I Ran" episodes on Bio though.

I'd like to see it. The first time I started to appreciate William Shattner was when he was "The Big Giant Head" on Third Rock from the Sun..too funny.

I'm sure you can catch the first two (Tim Allen, Valerie Bertinelli) again before next Tuesday's new pair. I noticed that Bio was re-running the first two last night, so I'm sure they've got it on the schedule again at least once.

Nimoy is definitely one of the future guests, which should be fun just to see the two of them share the same stage again. Also, supposedly he invited George Takei (Sulu) to come on the show, but no idea whether he accepted, since Takei has made no secret of the fact that he absolutely can't stand Shatner.
