The really old shows I remember are Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, Annie Oakley, Wild Bill Hickock but I was only 3, maybe 4 at the most at that time.
What I really remember is The Rifleman (be still my heart, Chuck Connors).
Some series with Chad Everett in it that I used to dream about Chad!
The Lone Ranger (Tonto my man!) (lol I grew up to marry 3 different men who all have Indian blood in them and my daughter is part Inadian too! go figure!)
Sky King, a more modern day cowboy whose horse is an airplane!
Alot of these old westerns take me back. I grew up on alot of these back in the early to mid 80s. Thanks to USA, TBS, WGN and a channel back in the day called CBN (which later became the Family Channel). I got see alot of the westerns mentioned in this thread. Ah my formative years as a couch potato. My faves were Cimarron Strip and the Rifleman (absolutely LOVED the opening). And I noticed not one vote for Wagon Train?
Tigerlily
I remember Lancer. It was part of USA's Sunday Showdown back in the day. I thought it was pretty good
I still watch Gunsmoke regularly too. It was so well done, with such memorable characters, scripts and high production values (great soundtrack!) that it seems timeless.
I liked Have Gun, Will Travel a lot too. I haven't seen it reently.
tamiznluv: Right you are! The Rifleman was a good 30-minute show. I love that intro! Chuck Connors was a real force. BTW, Johnny Crawford sings in front of a big band these days.
