The new Verizon commercials where they are talking about not having the services and something bad happening as a result. (Though the guy being in the blast zone is kinda cold)
My favorite is the sea world world comercials. The boy and his family come from sea world and the boy is explaining to his deaf grandpa what they saw in sign language.

These commercials are for AT&T, not Verizon. But, either way...I like the ones with the exploding turkey fryer (where the hose won't spray) and the vacation to the Spanish beach (covering the kids eyes). I still laugh at both of them. My DW thought the one with the Michael Phelps fan girl was "cute".

I think you are mistaking two different sets of commercials. The AT&T commercials are the "I just found the internet" commercial with some newsbreaking history in the background, i.e., Amelia Earhart's long lost plane, the fountain of youth, etc.
The VZW commercials are the eerie commercials at the motel or the Christmas Tree lot, where a sinister person warns them not to go "there." Then you see the VZW "network" guys, and the sinister person quickly changes their tune.
I think one of the best VZW commercials was the poor chap who was told to come "alone" to a specific area to meet what looked like a "mobster" and his two henchmen. He reminds the fellow he was supposed to come alone, and when the fellow explains the group behind him is his network, the "mobster" launches in to his cell phone service -- or lack of a signal -- because he's "always doing business out here."
