OK. Just watched the entire show. Kris's performance of "Heartless" was hands down the best of all 6 songs.

I still think that Adam is very talented but he will struggle in the business. He killed both songs tonight and I don't see where he fits in to a musical genre. If I heard his 2 songs on the radio while in my car I would've driven as fast as possible into the nearest pole.

Easy there, fella. Don't want to get the Cult of Adam hormones all riled up.

I wouldn't use the term massacre but I did not enjoy Adam's vocals or arrangement on that song.
His performance did not have any of Bono's original magic. It became a very bland song.

Another week of overly gushy reviews by the judges. I guess it is a ratings requirement at this point.

Even though I have never heard the Kanye West song, I thought Kris had the best vocals on that song tonight.
He had a little of a Craig David vocal sound in his performance.

Since this is a "singing competition", Danny should clearly be the odd man out - limited vocal range.
However, with teen and tween voting demographics likely being dominant, who knows what will happen.

Excellent post; agree 100%. I'm so sick of Adam's "drag queen falsetto" that everyone else apparently is in love with. Enough already.

I'm most likely the only one offended by it, but it's just not funny to me when people need to make fun of the fans who listen to/like a performer. Talking bad about the performer is one thing, they put themselves out there to be talked about, but I just find it annoying when folks get started on the fans.

and yes, I see the smiley face.

I am a big u2 fan also and I think bono would be proud. I loved his version of it. That's what is so great about Adam he makes it his own

But every song he sings sounds alike. He's becoming his own cliche'.

First, I did not talk bad about the performer, just the performance. I think Adam has been the best singer and performer this season. He deserves to win. That does not mean he doesn't sometimes have weak or uninteresting performances.

OTOH, I have never before seen such idolatry reserved for a performer in these forums. I know it is called American "Idol" but that's just supposed to be a name, isn't it? A lot of the Adam worship talk is just in fun but some seems to be well beyond that.

Every song? Did Tracks of my Tears sound like Whole Lotta Love? Or did Mad World sound like Play that Funky Music? or Born to be Wild sound like One? All different. Yes he has an amazing range and he loves the high notes and shows his range week after week, but I don't see that every song he sings sounds alike
Now Danny's songs all sound alike to me

Hi all - just in from Sandy Eggo. The papers are full of Adam Adam Adam. Lots of chatter on the radio. His appearances there definitely got him more votes and more attention. Great move on his part. Looks like he hit every media outlet, school, and shopping mall he could. Wise marketing.

I missed the show tonite (booo), but caught it on the AI site. Unfortunately for me, I clicked on what I thought were the performances, and it was just the three dummies and Simon reacting -- so I saw the reactions first and then the performances. I cracked up at Simon chastising the "Dawg and Ponytail" show for criticizing a song THEY chose... that was pretty funny. And ever since I read that Simon thinks Ryan is a Chihuahua, I crack up every time I see him. Woof Woof. Yap Yap Yap.

Just from the standpoint of being a mom of teens at one time, I think the judges did a disservice to all the singers. Except MAYBE Paula's choice for Gokey. Watching all of them back to back, That first song by Gokey, while I didn't care for it, was easy on the ears. And never forget how romantic tweenies are. SMART choice for Paula. She ain't as dumb as we think. She wants her boy in the finals, so she gave him a sappy song the tweenies will love. Adam's was completely messed up by the back up singer. And he will be really bummed when he sees that his ear pieces stuck out like elf ears. I guarantee... Kris's was ok, but too many sharps and flats. Not a hummable song. People like songs they keep hearing in their heads. I think it will work against him. The second songs were better than the first.

Then again, I've been driving for 6 hours, and I'm tired, So no one take ME seriously tonight! LOL
Catch up with y'all tomorrow night.
