Ok, I've got a serious problem now. You know how sometimes a song gets stuck in your head and won't go away?

I've got that red-faced dude's song stuck in my head; the one who sings..."I'll climb the frosty mountain, I'll climb the frosty mountain..."

I don't think the producers are planning to get rid of Paula by bringing in this new judge. I had read somewhere that she and Paula used to be roommates and got along well. I do think, however, that the new judge makes Paula step up her game a bit. Have you noticed that she doesn't (yet) seem as spaced out as other years?

I also think the two women adjustment to the judges format is a marketing scheme to attract more male viewers
if ya know what I mean

I think the two women will make it more intesting. It's the 8th season they have to make some changes. I am really bored with all the bad singers on it. I wish we could see more good singers, other than the ridiculous ones. I personally would enjoy it more

My 9 year old son doesn't like to see the really bad ones.
He wants us to fast-forward thru those.
He is so sensitive. He knows they are being made fun of.

My 6 year old son on the other hand, laughs and laughs and laughs...hmmm

I don't care for this season's emphasis on the life stories of some of the singers. I'd rather see more auditions and less about their road to Idol. That background info can be shared after they make it to Hollywood.

Me too. It comes off very contrived.
I would prefer to see more of the auditions, so I can make predictions.

They really played up blonde-chick-with-pretty-smile's backstory during EACH AND EVERY commercial break, about her father and growing up in a van and all that.
Then when it was finally time to feature her story, it was like: Meh. Nothing left to tell.

Looking forward to tonight. Thank goodness Betty is a repeat!

That's the beauty of the DVR....you don't have to choose....unless there are three shows on at the same time. Then you have to find another tv to watch.

I agree, it takes up too much time and I would rather see more people audtion. You know when they show the background story on them, that they pretty sure make it to the next round in Hollywood. The reason for that is because first they make it through the tryout and then they do the background story after, but it looks like they are just about to try out.
