I do not and will not watch this.
I will not turn it on just to see what it's like.
I saw a commercial for it last night made me sick.

You can't compare Shirley Temple to these kids.

TLC has a show with large families, it shows various large families in different episodes.
It's nothing new, been on for the last year.

You know I saw highlights (?) of one of these drivel fests, and saw a family rooting for their little darling: Baby Kaylee. Even her older brother, who was maybe all of 5 said: "Second place just isn't good enough." Well, Baby Kaylee took second, and brother was crying, dad was whimpering and disappointed too, I mean you'd have thought the world ended.

Most disturbing was mom's comment: "I am incapable of making ugly children." Stellar that one is.

Nothing was learned from the tragedy of Jon Benet Ramsey. Nothing. And I'd bet that John Ramsey wishes more than anything his late wife, had never put lipstick on that little girl and dressed her up like a Vegas show girl. I know I would.

I believe patsy ramsey did this because she was a former beauty queen herself .

Good Lord I saw the promotion for it again the other night, I can't stand the fat mother gyrating her hips and fat *ss around in circles as she's coaching her daughter to act like that.

I can't believe that you would actually buy a set of teeth for your child because she lost her front teeth. How many adults out there can't afford to visit the dentist and this little girl I saw has fake teeth just because she lost her front teeth which is normal for her age. OMG

I haven't seen this show, and I refuse to waste even a second of my life watching such garbage, but from the commercials and what people are saying about this show, I think its safe to say that TLC has officially sunk to the level of freakshow tabloid trash, right down there with Jerry Springer. They've gone a long way from being "The Learning Channel."

Okay... admittedly, I haven't seen this show 'cuz... well, I refuse.

However, they had a "behind the scenes" of this show on some channel like VH1 or E (can't remember). Why I watched this... I don't know. It was like a bad train wreck, just couldn't look away.

I really have no words for what I thought about it... but there was a smilie created for it and it looks like this ---->

The "flippers" the kids wear on their teeth? Really???

$2000 for a dress? Seriously???

Dressing your 5 year old up to look like a hookerish adult and then getting mad when men sit in the audience and oogle your child? DER!!!! What were you expecting?

One thing I hear these Mom's say is that their daughters feel very good doing these and their esteem grows. After watching a few shows I think I missed that. I have two 6 year oild and they still have a hard time playing Candy Land knowing someone will win or loose. That is just a matter of moving your guy and just what comes up to do that. If a child looses in these Beauty pagents I would think it would feel really bad. It is judged on you and your looks and talent. I saw a child last night that her name was like Bella but it was different. She was cubby and Mom said as she gets older she would have to diet. I guess I could go along with the nonglitz ones. As long as they wear regular clothes , perhaps look like they might if they were a flower girl and look natural. I really think it has a lot to do with the MOm's. Although I thought last night they had boys on the show and they really seem to enjoy it more than the girls on I seen.

I don't watch these shows. I've never even heard about it until this thread. It's another example of child exploitation.

Don't know if anyone watches America's Funniest Home Videos, well they showed a clip of a little girl, I'm guessing she was maybe 2 years old, she was dancing just like a stripper, and she won the grand prize. I was sickened by, 1. they would actually show such a video and 2. that the audience was actually laughing at the clip and 3. that it won the money. It's very horrifying that adults exploit these little children and there is an adience for these types of things.

It's all very, very disturbing.
