I never had HBO but once A&E began airing Sopranos I was hooked. Didn't take me lng to figure out A&E was editing the crap out of it tho so I bought every season on DVD. Man they had cut out a LOT!! Things intricate to the story line too.
I found the show to be as funny as dramtic. Hubby will hear me laughing so much and ask "are you watching Sopranos again"
I loved Janice. Love when the guy she either married or was about to marry, slapped her-just one time(Helllllo Rhinanna!!) and Janice blew his s**t away.
Loved how Tony came right over to help her.
Loved the episodes where Uncle Junior was dating the babe in Florida and she spilled the beans about how he liked oral sex and like to give oral sex. That apparently is a no no and if one did perform it-it was to be kept QUIET!!! Hilarious!!
Loved how Tony got all those women when he was such a ..well not handsome an sort of overweight guy. POWER baby!!
Every episode had it's own appeal.
Love this show.

I'm glad somebody else sees how funny that show is. I loved Janice, the deadly hippie. When she blew that guy away, what was his name the guy who was in Mean Streets? Aprile right? But I can't think of his first name I was glad to see that guy go. he was bad news ever since he got out of jail, like when he ran that guy over with a car, a couple times, if anybody ever deserved to be taken out without hesitation it was him. I don't have the DVD's, but on my cable we get it free, like a couple seasons at a time. Junior is beautiful too. What do ya think? Was he crazy when he shot Tony or not? They did seem to walk the line on some things, even his mother, if she was all there.

The Sopranos is definitely one of the best shows ever!
Carmela was my favorite character b/c she didn't take any crap from Tony (w/the exception of him sleeping around like a manwhore). She wasn't scared of him at all, unlike a lot of mob movies or stories where the wife of the Don is afraid of her husband. She even had the nerve to have an affair of her own!! Go Carmela! Their fights are some of the best and funniest on tv.
That being said, she also had Tony's back whenever he needed her regardless of what he was doing behind her back.

Every woman in Tony's life gave him agida!(Sp) Even his the ones he was just nailin' on the side. That Russian chick, the one with the face, the crazy one that called his house and ratted him out to Carmella. His shrink denies his advances, his daughter tolerates and manipulates him, beautifully, and his mother wants him out of the picture altogether. I may ave nissed it, but did Carmella ever sleep with that Preist?

Wait she slept with AJ's teacher, the one who told her she was using sex to get her son a passing grade. "You better watch it buster!" She told him when she walked out on him for the last time. The implication of course that she could have him gone from the planet with a bat of her eyelashes.

Ah yes, and all those close father and son moments with Tony and AJ. Anyone remember the commercials they showed a couple years ago right before fathers day ? The song "Hey let me tell you about my best friend" tune was playing while they showed clips of Tony with his angry face on, yelling at AJ and smacking him around. I can't remember what the ad was selling or if it was a network promo, but I was LMAO, wish I had recorded it.
Paulie was my favorite, the tension with Tony and Phil made for some entertaining episodes, like the one where the lawn care guys fight over they neighborhood they work in, or the episodes with Vito (johnny cakes) and how Phil and Tony argue on weather to whack him for being gay. Poor Vito, when they found him wearing the leather with a sailor hat on at the bar, that was it for him, the hunt was on. Then Phil complains to his crew "Those guys are harboring a *** over there"
I miss the show, should of kept it going, Was pleased to see Tony finally getting Christopher out of his hair after the little car accident. The episodes with grandad soprano in the nursing home gave me a chuckle.

No, but that commercial in itself is too funny. Now if it would have been of Tony and his mother for Mother's Day that might have even been another thing. That whole Vito thing was a great story line. (A side observation, in the episode where Christopher shoots the counter kid at the Bakery in the foot, the fat guy that the kid tries to serve ahead of Christopher was Vito, before he was Vito).
But speaking of Vito, Meadow's boyfriend, the one that catches Vito in a compromised position, that whole sequence was well done too. Why Vito ever lifted his head and showed his face I didn't get though. Whoever it was it was someone he didn't want to see. But I gotta say I wasn't ready for the Christopher thing. To me it kind of took Tony down a peg or two as a guy, who could be so fed up or so f*cked up, that he could do that. Dramatic, but would he really have done something like that? But that was what was so great about the show. The writers must have realized right away that they'd have to be careful not to judge any of the characters, which I think led them to a kind of multi-dimensional characterization. No one was perfect, and no one was without redeeming qualities. Also, every development of any importance could be seen and understood in different ways. Just like life.
