A little toooooo hyper for me and listening to her voice (loud and obnoxious) really makes me turn her show off.

Wow - if Rachael Ray is considered fat, then I'm Jabba The Hut.

I like her a lot. I think she's cute and some of her recipes that I've actually made are great. I like her upbeat personality, also. The day I start disliking someone because they are "too happy" is the day I need to be put on medication.

I liked $40 a day and still catch 30 minute meals occasionally, but I haven't watched her talk show.
I do think her "delish" and "evoo" get a little annoying and the whole "choup" (chowder/soup) thing from last week made me roll my eyes, but overall I like her.

Why does she talk out of the side of her mouth like a gangster? Could it be a vestige of
her Sicilian ancestry?

Thank you for noticing that the charm is all an act...its always the same
words, facial expressions, tone of voice...thats why the talk show failed, cause she couldn't maintain that "Act" over an hour chat show....and the real self wasn't anything to write home about.

I didnt know her talk show was cancelled. Not that I watched it, but I think sometimes these 'overnite' tv stars get some good reviews, then we get saturated. She has her 30 min meal show, then her 40$ show, then also a talk show, and then the 1/2 hr show when a celebrity cooks a special dish (which also happens on her talk show) ENOUGH I SAY !!!

You rock! Everybody who says the opposite of you is an idiot. I can't believe they are grinding this thread into the ground still!

Just because Rachael Ray hasn't destroyed some famous actor's home or hasn't married a child molester, she's not hip!

She likes Casino and other Mafia movies, she likes to cook, but doesn't have to spend all day in there, she's cute and wholesome and COULD eat a head of cabbage through a picket-fence, but I won't hold that against her. My wife Mrs. McGowdog watches her and that's good enough for me.

So MsJones, how can we go about "Putting People on Medication"? I want to look into that.

That gravely voice is supposedly a fad now with a lot of women....and I agree, it makes them all sound like long-time smokers who stayed up too late!

Hating someone because of their voice? Wow...

I think we all have a hard time dealing with "real people" these days.

I like her. I've gotten some good recipes from her show...

Personally, I wish her stylist would dress her a little more casually - and not try to package her to be something she's not.

I wonder what they said about Julia Child when she started out?

Julia Child was about 8 feet tall, kind of a kitchen klutz and she spoke with a high pitched, screechy voice. (I realize that comparing Rachel Ray to Julia Child in the same sentence is asking for trouble, but there's some similarity here.. admit it!)

Why is everyone so ready to crucify successful people???

Last edited by World Citizen; 11-23-2007 at 09:56 AM.. Reason: screechy???
