I just think that TLC is needing to be more responsible with the shows they put on. Like John and Kate it needs to come off. I just think that families who do these shows don't always understand where the show could take their family. Kate from JOn and Kate is I guess more concerened with keeping this show on then what is going on with her family. The money can be something you don't want to give up. The Duggars I think are grounded and I think they do fine. Little World I think that family is more real and the show has a message in teaching us about being different. There kids are bratty, but for the most part they act I believe just like they are. I also like with the Duggars and Little World that yes they go places but unlike John and Kate they aren't showing us every week what they can get because of the show or where they can go. On Little world they have a nice home but did you ever see what that house looked like when they bought it. THey also appear to work outside the show. This I think is where Jon and Kate went wrong. The Duggars also built a lot of that house themself and they also have rental homes. Do not live off your family and the fame of your show. LOok at the Octo Mom that we are all sick off she is trying to do just what Jon and Kate does , market the kids that should be a blessing to her. TLC is suppose to be The Learning Channel. They need to ask what do we learn from some of their shows.

Several years ago families 'might' have had reason to say they didn't know what they were getting into. There have been enough of these family reality shows now that there is really no excuse for not knowing all the risks involved. Truthfully, even I would have had the sense to investigate thoroughly any venture that might put my family's future in jeopardy.
Kate has the large 'Plan Ahead' sign on the kitchen table and we know she is 'very smart', so I am not going to cue the violins for her on this.
I've said before it really galls me to hear her say that they consider themselves to have been 'Blessed' with all these opportunities when in reality this was a business deal from the beginning. I rather imagine someone in her vast network of helpers/supporters even suggested that this might be a means to financial security for J &K. I have known many Christians and some of them have different ideas about how 'Prosperity' can be achieved--therefore I try to be as openminded as I can about any other person's lifestyle and particularly their religious beliefs. I am not a Fundamentalist myself and Kate does seem to have some very strong beliefs about striving to be Perfect--as many Fundamentalists do.
I'm not certain J & K would have been able to do more than feed and clothe the children and sooner or later the helpers would have moved on, so it was fortuitous that the TLC show was an alternative.
Maybe they TLC edits or even requests that those appear on their shows add a little drama. That is what keeps viewers involved. (Except that as a viewer I am tired of this particular family. I assume others are, too.)
The other shows I watch now and then. Sometimes individuals on shows are annoying to lesser degrees but I haven't paid that much attention.
I don't really remember how or why I began to watch 'J & K'--the kids are adorable, I guess. The parents seemed to be hard working and likable people at the beginning. Many young parents are under incredible pressure and it is understandable that everything isn't 'Honey and Darling'.
The things that are being said now are sharp and hurtful.
They should be in better shape financially and they should now have a network of professionals to assist them in planning for the future.
Maybe there is not really anything interesting about them and TLC came up with a scandal? Who knows.

I again last night made a comment or complaint to TLC. I think letting Jon and Kate stay on the air right now is really wrong. Someone who has any common sense needs to protect those children and I guess it isn't the parents

As I see it as long as money is being made neither TLC or Jon and Kate will call an abrupt halt to the show.
I am more concerned about the reports of bitter hatred between J&K which apparently has been developing over the years.
I would think the kids have adjusted to being filmed and to being famous--that damage is already done. Someone should probably do some damage control with Cara and Maddy about what their friends might be seeing on magazine covers or TV but the publicity won't last long--Jon and Kate are not 'really' celebrities. Must have been a slow week for some of the magazines if Kate was the choice for a cover.

True it isn't about Jon and Kate but if this family doesn't learn from what happened Jon an Kate they are blind.

I apologize. TLC has brainwashed me with all the large families and the religious perspectives that are presented. For some time now, nationally, religion has been a much discussed topic and it is an overwhelming topic to me at times--Pro Life/Pro Choice and all that.
I'm a mainstream, average sort of person and I am a Christian but I could not/would not believe that God would want me to reproduce in that way.
My mind is addled from all the reproductive styles and all the work involved in the rearing of all the children.

I'm sure the Duggars don't pay much attention if any to stuff like the Gosselins. I think they are fine and this kind of stuff won't happen to them. They seem far too grounded to let this go to their heads.

Yes, they have their own world. Homeschooling and home perms and cookimg the casseroles. That is one way to live but to be approaching menopause and to have ?? children under 12 is not something I would like.
Josh and Anna's child will enjoy playing with his/her aunt, I forget that child's name.
