American culture is a complete embarrassment. This announcement simply adds another layer of embarrassment. It doesn't even feel like the original has been "gone" for that long.....

When's the Model's Inc remake going to be announced? Maybe Carrie Anne-Moss's schedule has finally cleared up...?

The acting is awful so far. I'm still going to try to stick it out till the end of the episode.

Is anyone else as confused as me on this show? I have to give them credit for opening with a mystery, but I certainly hope they explain how Sydney could have been alive when she died on her wedding day.

I'm sorry but unless they have flashbacks of Syd, I won't be watching this show - I'm very disappointed. It seems they could have had the old fans plus new ones but so far they've blown it - I only watched a few minutes.

You can see how enthusiastic I was originally!

I actually liked it. I loved seeing the old apartment complex! Ahh...nostalgia! I think the new cast is fun and since it was only the series premiere I definately won't be judging the show until I get to see a couple more..

I sure wish they'd explain how David could possibly be Michael's son. I don't remember Michael having a son when the original Melrose Place started. In addition, if you watched the show last night, Michael made a statement to Sydney saying it's been 11 years since her "accident". I was assuming it was when she was hit in her wedding dress. If that's the case, there's no way David could've been born after that. He'd be younger than 11. UNLESS they are aging the timeline and the "11 years" statement was an oversight on the writers' parts.

I hope they address the daughter that Jane had with Michael, but passed off as Kyle's as well as Michael's child with Taylor (who had left with the child to go back to Boston).

The one thing I hate about Sydney faking her "death" is that Craig was so devastated by her "death" in the original Melrose that he committed suicide. They better have a good explanation as to why she'd fake her death when she was into Craig.

I wonder who else besides Michael, Sydney, Jane, and Jo will show up. Not sure yet about Amanda (Heather Locklear).

I don't see Doug Savant (Matt) leaving DH and returning to Melrose Place as Matt died in a car accident and his journal (with everyone's secrets) was the impetus for the final season's storylines. Same with Marcia Cross (Kimberly dead) and Kristen Davis (Brooke dead) and they've moved on to better things. Rob Estes (Kyle) is now on 90210 as a different character, and Kelly Rutherford (Megan) is on Gossip Girl. I guess Courtney Thorne-Smith (Alison), Grant Show (Jake), Andrew Shue (Billy), Allysa Milano (Jennifer), Jack Wagner (Peter), Lisa Rinna (Taylor - IF they mess with the timeline and make David her son) and Jamie Luner (Lexi - even though she's on AMC) could all make appearances.

Speaking of Lexi, I wonder how Melrose Place went from her ownership to Sydney's...
