I think it happened last year, too, where they sent home a complete couple the first week. It's like the dancers were seeded and they coupled them with those at the same level. Great with the great. Good with the good. Barely there with the barely there.

Last year my friend and fellow dancer Jamie Baird was the first to go home. I don't remember who the girl was, or if she was Jamie's partner.

I looked on Wikipedia and the 1st 2 eliminated were a couple and the second 2 eliminated were a couple, too.

I'm going to be on the west coast for the next few days for business so I know I won't be able to watch the show this week so I'm taping it at home. I'm going to try to stay away from this thread until I've seen the show...I know I won't though. Thursday morning I'll be on here reading all of your comments and then when I watch the tape Friday I'll be biased "ooo she was right - that move was dreadful"

It just came on and the first couple was good, but I have a couple of distractors.

1. Cat's dress, and
2. The girl of couple #1 looks a little thick in the legs. I'm distracted by the costume she wore, because her legs look so big. Not that there is anything wrong with thick legs, heck I have them myself, but I know that certain things I can't wear. The wardrobe department really needs to learn how to dress the competitors (and Cat).

I'll keep posting. I'm sure I'll be alone for awhile.

So just how much older is this "older" female dancer?

She's 29 and the others range from 18 to 24 or 25 (I think).

I didn't like the dance couple #2 did. Maybe I didn't get it? I don't know, something about it was off for me. They did it well, but I didn't like it.

Couple #3 didn't do well at all (IMO). She was stiff and he looked like he was trying too hard. I think the routine could have been great if it had been pulled off well; I really like the choreographer.

LOVED couple #4!

Okay, Mary is getting on my nerves, she really needs to tone it down a few octaves. And did Nigel take a dig at Mia Michaels?
