Twinkle Toes, are you a teacher, coach, student or all three? I know you're a competitor. Will we see YOU on SYTYCD?
No - you won't see me on there. I am a competitor, but since my partner and I train with a coach, we are also students. I can also teach, but that's not what I do for work. I teach my friends, if they want to learn how to dance.

BARF!!

I can't believe they have that washed up cougar Mary on there. How annoying. She's probably the worst thing about the show.

I take offense to that. You may not like her for whatever reason, but for those of us who are around and involved in the art (any form of art really) know that there is no such thing as being washed up, especially when it comes to those who KNOW the craft and are experts in teaching it. Your lack of artistry is evident and you dont even have to say anything about "I never said ..... blah blah blah" because is readily apparent that you know nothing about what your talking about.

Respect should be given to ALL WHO TEACH be they dancers (Mary, Mia Michaels, Debbie Allen, Igor Moiseyeve), boxers (Manny Steward, Freddie Roach, Floyd Mayweather Sr., Dan Goossen, etc.) or martial arts teachers (Yip Man, Ed Parker, Helio Gracie, Bucksam Kong, etc.). For you to call someone who knows more about the artform than many who walk the earth "a washed up cougar" really shows who and what you are.

Totally agree! Mary is AWESOME!!! She is a first class coach and the other teachers at her studio (Champion Ballroom) are equally as talented. Champion had a showcase last week that was "da bomb". Some of the best dancers out there right now.

I can't take the hysterical screaming. It's enough to consider a plunge out a plate glass window.

I figured you were talking about the screaming. Yeah, it's a bit much ... but that's Mary. FWIW, every time I've been to Mary's ballroom, I've never heard her do that. Only on the show.

I must be odd. I LIKE the scream. It shows a certain unbridled enthusiasm. I wouldn't want EVERYONE to do it, nor would I like anyone to do it all the time, but, to me, it's part of what makes Mary Mary. It's endearing! It's her signature, sort of like Randy Jackson's "Ok, dawg, so here's the deal...".

Of course, I don't live with her, either. If she did it all the time at home, we might have to talk... .

Oh I'm sure she's nice enough, but the screeching overshadows everything. It just about blows out the windows in the house.

Tell her she can turn down the volume on the screeching. Being enthusiastic is one thing, shattering tv sets and windows is another.

And she is a cougar. I heard she has a taste for the younger studs.

Yeah. I agree with you on the screaming and "hot tamale train" stuff. Her screaming really annoys me.
