I think the only reason she got clean was so she could get that sensation of getting hight for the first time again.

Not unusual for recovering addicts to relapse when things are going "too well". If all you know is drama, sometimes a normal life feels overwhelming and unfamiliar. And, where can the storyline go if there isn't a relapse? Edie Falco is very convincing in the role, I look forward to next season.

I just got the first disc from Netflix and saw the first 4 episodes. If it continues to be this good I'll be happy to watch all the available ones.

I thought the first couple seasons were very good. Then either Season 3 or 4 was a drop in quality, mainly the writing became less focused. Story wandered, characters acting "out of character", etc. Still quite watchable, just not as good as the first couple seasons.

But I thought the latest season (S5, aired Spring 2013) was very good. Like a return to old.

Enjoy!

I watched all the episodes in the space of a few weeks, and enjoyed it a lot.
Am impatiently awaiting the next season, scheduled to begin in April 2014.

Did I zone out or something? For some reason I thought there was another season that just aired within the last few months. Then I went to catch up on Showtime On Demand and Nurse Jackie wasn't even an option. I think I confused myself. What happened in the last episode to air?

Thanks. I actually did look that up but I still felt like I missed part of a season or something? That is why I asked here. I guess I did see all of the episodes .

I was just trying to be careful to not reveal spoilers in thread, for those who might not have gotten there yet.
Spoiler
She remains sober during most recent season...right up until the last episode,
where she finally gives in & pops that pill she'd been saving, by her bedside in the ring-box.

I must have dreamed that there were new episodes! I actually do remember all of that. It's been a weird year.
