The media can sure be "bruttle" by describing/teasing Kevin as the "Chicken Catcher from Kentucky" who wins America's Got Talent. Of course, I really don't think he cares........he got the million$$$$$$ and the Headline for the Vegas show. Only thing is, what will he do after that?? Don't really think he is going to make it in the "singing/song" world!
I have a prediction about Kevin Skinner at some point they will just buy out his contract for the Vegas show because of lack of interest in seeing him perform and then we will never here from him again. They need to rename the show America Can't recognize talent!
Whew. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that didn't get him. I think his story is compelling and I wish him all the luck, but I can't imagine wanting to ever hear him sing again.
I didn't think Kevin had the most talent but I did think he was talented. I can see him having a successful singing career if he sticks to what he does best, country music. For his sake I am happy for him since he seems like a nice guy.
My biggest beef with the show and the reason I may stop watching it is that I think it is rigged. I wonder how free the judges are in what they say and who they vote for, the contestants in what songs they perform and how accurate the voting results themselves are. I also didn't care for the way they milked every last ounce out of it by making fans watch two nights each week that could have been done in one night and making contestants suffer by waiting for the results side by side in pairs. I also think I missed something. The first semi-finals sent on 6 instead of 5 from the first show and (I thought) 5 from the second, so how come there were 10 at the finals? If they only sent 4 on from the second then that was unfair to those contestants since 4/10 is a lot worse odds than 6/10.

I always said that and nobody listened! If you go back and look up Paul Pott's audition on Britain's Got Talent and then watch Neal Boyd from season three of America's Got Talent you'll see they're almost identical in their speeches and backgrounds. It is rigged.
Which in the fine print at the end of the show states "payable over 40 years in equal installments or winner may choose to select the current cash value of the annuity".
I don't know what the "current cash value" would be, any math whiz around that could guesstimate what that would be after taxes? Around $180,000 after taxes? Give or take?
But, let's say he takes the annuity and also assume taxes bite about 35% to 40% off the top, Kevin would get around $15,000 a year for forty years and receive his last payment when he's 75 years old.
for all of you putting down kevin---remember bob dylan made it with the most annoying voice??? in america,as did johnny cash who spoke deeply more than he sang---so why not wish a regular unassuming guy well???
THE "WORST" are now making 80% of the music heard on today's pop radio stations!
