I think the show was pretty decent. It did show the other side to things - that ABC family show American teenager or whatever wraps the whole teen pregnancy thing into a nice pretty little bow but this showed the real side of it. I'll probably watch again if I happen to be home while it's on.

The problem is universal and timeless...doing the nasty is just so much darn fun...that nobody ever thinks of the consequences of being tied down with an infant. I'd like to think that this show would curb teenage pregnancy by showing the work involved in raising an infant at a time when you'd rather be out partying with your non-parent friends...but let's face it...who ever thinks of that in the throes of young teenage passion? That feeling is just overwhelming at that age.

LMAO I stayed a virgin all through high school because I didn't want stretch marks on my boobs all the girls who I knew that had kids had stretch marks and (at the time) I thought they were the most horrible thing in the world. If I had even started to get in the throes of passion I would envision all my cute tops and the moment would end abruptly.

I've known women who never had any kids, but still had stretch marks.
In fact, my husband has them, on his butt and hips, and I've seen other men with them, too.
But it's true... pregnant women get them worse, and pregnant teens probably get them worst of all.

So true! I think people forget this, or maybe they have never experienced it (yeah right). I do applaud any effort to curb teen pregnancy, but at the same time I can't kick these young adults while they are down like that. As a mature adult who should know better, I am woman enough to admit at times I have (and some friends) thrown caution to the wind in the midst of passion. Now combine that with boredom, lack of parental care, peer pressure, the craving for love or attention, etc and it gets difficult to do the right thing. Not impossible, but difficult for most at that age.

If this show makes even one teen change her mind about wanting to become pregnant, then I'm all for it!

Did you grow up in NJ? I did.
I can't count the number of girls that used to talk in the locker room after gym about who is going to have who's baby. This was the 80's.

I dunno it didn't really seem like he was trying to me. Yes he was still there and he had a job but he really didn't help out at all. I mean even his dad saw that and told him in a mature but firm manner that he should get his act together and be an actual dad. Even though (imo) they are way too young the girl said it best when she said she wasnt ready but she grew up real quickly. SHe might not be the best mom but i thought she was doing a p[retty good job. Hell at she graduated school early and enrolled herself right into college. Plus work a job and realized that it would be better for the baby if she quit the dance team (even though it was the only thing she was doing for herself). What did he do? Oh yes he went out with his buddies and then had the balls to ask her what she was doing that night. Hellllllo!!!! She is trying to be a responsible parent which means she is staying at the house with her baby! . He barely changed any diapers or fed the baby. And oh yes, he got a nice tattoo of the baby's name...When u kno wthey have to be struggling financailly so why even spend that money on a tattoo. My husband does pretty well financially (for us anyway) and i want a tattoo that represents my son but i can still think of all the ways i can spend that money like groceries, bills, formula, diapers....im sure you get my point.

Thats right. im pretty sure i read that there is a genetic link to stretch marks. which is why some get stretch marks and some dont. Or why men may get them.
