Don't do it for me but I think in general, it is a good idea to actually know what you're talking about before passing judgement. We all get wrapped up in our assumptions from time to time...You might be surprised - you might not. There were a few posters on here that felt it did indeed glorify teen pregnancy - at least they watched it first, that's all. Kudos to you for giving it a chance - then you are entitled to any opinion you might have.

I watched last nights show with Whitney. She gave me the impression she is VERY lazy. Thank goodness, her b/f stepped up to the plate and cared for the baby.
And, her meemaw!! OMG, I'm not so sure I'd give up my bedroom (especially to a granddaughter that shows you NO respect), if my house didn't have extra bedrooms.
I am interested in seeing Thursday nights show, I think the couple plan on giving the baby up for adoption.

I doubt it did anything for kids watching it. They didn't show how hard it is to get jobs, relationships they have with the fathers if any at all, and or how really hard it is to be a parent. Like all reality shows they get you caught up in the moment and don't show the REALITY. In a way it is a show to make money however you want to see it they don't care about its viewers.

16 and Pregnant is nothing like the "True Life" series.

maciemom, I usually have read and or have seen things to provide an opinion about something I comment on and I saw the previews/commercials for the show and like I said saw the True Life shows with the pregnant teens. So it is not like I was blowing smoke from my X!!. A lot of the times from a preview you can see the train wreck so why watch? Now I feel obligated so I'll check back in with my report, I'm sure they repeat several times in the week like MTV usually does with its shows.

well if you had read the posts you would know the answer to your question..I'll never understand the purpose behind posting on a thread that you didn't bother to read... "I didn't read the book but let me critique it."

Well that's your opinion. I actually watched an episode with my cousin and her friends and they couldn't get over the fact that the girl not only wasn't able to perform with her ROTC team but couldn't go to the air force like planned - I think a lot of girls think "oh well I'll get pregnant, Mom will raise the baby and I'll just go on with my life." Not saying the show had a dramatic effect on their lives but the fact that it even pointed it out was a plus IMO since there are other shows on tv where a girl has a baby and goes right back to life like nothing's changed.

Well, I've already been here and done that with another poster. Honey you didn't read any book nor do I need you to critique anything. Don't think you read my post all the way, so I just don't have the energy to repeat myself. But I plan on watching and doubt my opinion will change. If you like the show and shows like it well good viewing hopefully you'll get something out of it. I'm an old goat trying to raise kids so those shows do little for me my dear.

Honey,
I read all through the end and I don't care how you slice it - there is no purpose in commenting on something that you haven't seen/nor read anything about especially if you don't have any interest in doing so.
My dear,
I for one am not interested in your personal life but if you choose to participate in the discussion please at least be informed of the topic.
I did read your posts all the way and personally I don't see why you're even planning on watching the show if you've already formed an opinion about it and are deciding beforehand that it will not change, unless you're going to come back and repeat again (so much for not having the energy to be repetitious) that the show is garbage.
This thread is about the poster's opinions of the television show - if you don't think the television show is worth your time than please don't feel obligated to post here.
Back to the topic:

I never actually catch them when they come on but the previews make this one does look interesting since this is the first couple who is considering adoption.

natlayjones, I bet you enjoy watch Toya and Tiny too.
Why would you even make a comment directly to me when I already went threw a similar back and forth with another poster? Makes no sense. But I guess you had to tell me something irrelevant.
Just out of respect for the other poster I was going to watch the show and it is my perogative to do so. Like I said had you read what I wrote then you would know I based my judgements about the show from what I know MTV does and other similar premises it showed on their network and the promos for the show. Mmm, don't know why that wouldn't make me one to pose an opinion from the show but I guess you have all the answeres since you are a constant viewer. Most people in my boat do as I have done, so your judgment for someone you don't know on a thread is ridiculous and irrelevant I really don't care. So I'll post what I think and if I happen to be wrong about the show then I will say so and if I was right about the show then I will say so as well.
But from your comments about this show it is clear you know too much about the subject matter, and it is sad you waste your time on these types of shows and your type of responses don't surpries me at all.
