Arrow MTV's 16 & Pregnant..The Real knocked-up teens of America

This show premiered last night....did anyone catch it? Very interesting. I'll admit it was strange to hear a high school girl describing her 30 hour labor.

The show wasn't salacious at all, I think it is a good show to watch for teens.

“‘16 & Pregnant’ follows the journey of six young women going through an immensely life-changing experience at such a young age. Each episode tells a new, unique story and shows the real-life challenges they face from dealing with family and friends to school and finances as new mothers. This is the real secret life of an American teenager.”

I caught it. It was "tragic". I can't imagine that when I was 16 that I would be a father. I felt bad for last night's mother. She was so naive, as any 16 year old would be in this situation. They did not have the parenting or life skills to be able to cope with their new baby. I hope that this show enlightens teenagers about the real risk of pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.

The paternal grandfather seemed like he was dispensing some sound advice to his son. I liked that he was outspoken and was willing to have adult conversations with his child and infant "daughter in-law".

I am waiting for an episode of a girl that all she can think about is becoming a mom. Can't wait until her eyes open up to reality!

It kind of upset me as a parent. If you feel your mature enough to have sex, then you better be able to raise a child. Putting the baby on the bed and letting it cry while you roll over to watch TV, is a horrible parent. Never mind the crying the child could have rolled off the bed. I just couldn't fathom not holding my daughter when she was crying, I know sometimes they want their mom's but as a dad you need to make an effort which this clown obviously was not. Sorry but when you have a child your aren't going to be able to go out with your friends all the time and have to give up some of those things. It seems to many kids get this idea that having a baby isn't that hard, I've been in the military, worked constructions but being a dad is my toughest job yet and most rewarding.

I taped it to see if it's anything I want to watch with my daughter.
Haven't seen it yet.

I will say that the mom featured last night was at least working at having a better life. She finished high school and enrolled in college. If she breaks up with her fiance, I hope her parents will help her finish school. I know I would if it was my daughter.

The dad just grated on my nerves. In his defense, I will say I have seen grown men act the same way toward their children. He too is a child himself.

I really don't think they will make it. They have all those issues before they even get married. Hopefully the father will spend more time with his son than his friends.

My daughter wanted to watch this show. I think it's good for her to see the "other side" of parenting. There are so many young girls getting pregnant nowadays, a show like this can be a deterrent for those who may be considering it.

I was in my 20s when I gave birth and I still needed help. I can't stand to see shows that make it look like having a baby is so easy and the parents can still have their party lives. Once the baby comes, life as you knew it is over. That baby's needs have to come first. I hope my daughter gets to carry around one of those dolls that acts like a real baby in school next year; she has to see it's not as glamorous as they make it look on some TV shows.

Trash TV. I would LOVE for MTV to go back to playing music videos. Even if it's crappy music, anything would top this kind of junk.

I wouldn't consider it such. as others have said if this gets young girls to realize how hard being a parent is, then it's worth it.

It's not like MTV doesn't have shows on that are far worse than this, The Hills.
