lol yeah taz...frank doesn't mess around, does he? And that flashback of gibbs schlepping around their equipment when he was a "probie" -- that was great! They have a good amount of funny moments in the show overall. I just saw one of mcgee falling into a sewer when tony slipped and let go of his hold, lol. Abby with everyone else definitely brings the comic side. She and mcgee make a good comedic team.
I even saw one of the Jag-NCIS episode (first one for NCIS) where the prosecuting lawyer asked Abby to dress "conservative" and wear glasses and she was just so uncomfortable up on the stand, trying to be serious and "uptight", she would slip when she gets excited talking about forensic findings. I liked that scene too.

I heard that there is a real Leroy Gibbs that's actual friends with Don Bellisario. That's where Don based his reel character from. And the real life Gibbs either worked for the CIA or FBI (not sure which).

Sasha Alexander wanted to get pregnant, and doing the show was just too physical for her. She left amicably -- but man, that last scene was a shocker to everyone. We'd heard someone would die, but they were very good about spoiling the spoilers, and we thought we'd been had when she was fine after being shot the first time. No one on the lists saw that kill shot coming (just like when Buddy stepped on the mine in JAG). The lists exploded with chatter after that ep was over.

That's not where the name came from. Both Albert Jethro Chegwidden (from JAG) and Leroy Jethro Gibbs were named after Don Bellisario's father, whose name was Jethro.

One ex-wife was a witness in a case -- 5th season, I believe. She was played by Kathleen York.
but the one guy that they typically do stuff with from the cia also married one of gibbs ex-wives.

That's Fornell (played by Joe Spano) -- but he's FBI, not CIA.

No he didn't -- he killed the guy while he was still in the Marine Corps, before he joined NCIS.
