I hope they all get their turns. I love Howard. I like the Penny character too but now that she and Leonard are not a couple, I wonder if she will continue to be a big part of the show.

Oh, and I wouldn't mind seeing more of the comic book guy.

I agree.. Sheldon's the reason I watch this show but I still think it needs to be a little balanced..

No. This was actually the subject of an early episode. First or second season, I think. One day, Sheldon will eat too much Thai food and reproduce by spontaneous osmosis.

I guess I'm showing my age then, because I never saw the appeal. Something about Dick Van Dyke has always grated on my nerves. I just don't see the appeal.

And I've held a lifelong grudge against Mary Tyler Moore, because her show used to run opposite The Muppet Show, and when it came to me wanting to watch the muppets vs. my stepmother wanting to watch MTM, my dad sided with my stepmom. So my psyche has always associated Mary Tyler Moore with the evil stepmother.

I have the same problem with Dick Van Dyke - I lke Mary though (and the supporting cast on The Dick Van Dyke Show)

Well I mentioned that The Dick VanDyke Show was original for its time and it was. But I wasn't nuts about it. I liked the peripheral characters like Buddy and Sally and Mel. Millie Helper was also funny. It wasn't a regular must-see for me but I would watch sometimes.
