I remember those days well. I grew up loving BET, Donnie Simpson & Sherry Carter were the greatest; the only time they really showed rap music was during rap city and even then the raunchy stuff didn't come on until like 1am. Now it's like every time I flip through the channels I'm "What the hell are they doing" It's bad enough that the shows are crappy but they're not even original. It's like they watch crappy shows on other channels and then say "let's do that but make it black" I can't stand college hill - it's one of the most embarrassing things I've ever seen in my life. How do you have a show called College Hill and no one ever goes to school?!?!?

Used to like it until they went the MTV route and started showing lame and overdramatized reality shows. I miss 2 hours of The Basement with Big Tigger
And they don't even bother showing "Uncut" anymore WTF?

I took a look at BET only once since 1987. It was enough to convince me that it was essentially a celebration of ignorance. Someone said that the station is now owned by asians, so this may explain the very stereotypical programming.
What a very short-sighted perception and warped instincts to think that black people in this country want to be entertained by ignorance. There of course is an ignorant segment of the race (like every race), but why cater to it to perpetuate the negative stereotype? Certainly says more about the limitations of the people creating the programming rather than the target audience.

So BET News and Sunday programming is ignorance? come on guys, BET aint that bad.
Over the past years the network has changed its format to target a much younger crowd. And teenagers like watching ignorant stuff. BET networks knows they dont speak for all black folks.
If you want a mature channel watch BETJ.

Well I've been hearing about Tiny & Toya for weeks on the radio but never really listened to the whole commercial. Tonight I was flipping through the channels and I caught a glimpse of the show.
I know reality shows are what's in right now but did they really think anyone would be interested in watching the lives of two rappers baby mama's?
I'm starting to wonder if their target audience is 14 year-old girls.
