WTF, what was up with Preetti (sp?) taking almost the whole time for the QF challenge to shuck clams???? hehehe....I am sure the others on her team were so pissed! She was still shucking away when there was finally a winning team!
I thought for sure the girl that cooked the scallops & shrimp for the EC was going home. Her dish looked horrible but so did the girl's dish that did go home tonight.
It looks like it will be an interesting season!

I agree on all counts - I really thought the scallop dish and her reaction to the judges would get her sent home....But I did think it would be close between the two....
It does seem the cheftestants are overall a more experienced/talented group than last year...also a lot more ink, piercings and "alternative" looks (just an observation not a judgement).

Ditto that on Preeti - she's an Exec Chef and never shucked a clam? I shucked clams when I was 10!
I'm liking Jennifer - I think she was embarrassed at panel when Wolfgang made fun of her drinking.
Eli - chubby dork, he looks like he's going to be a problem!
It looks like a good season so far!

I don't think any of us will be able to not notice all the alternative looks this season. That is fine with me you put "just an observation not a judgment" to ward off anybody reading getting their feelings hurt by taking it the wrong way. Since these things are on the up & coming future professionals I think it is fair game. As long as that is not the topic in the whole thread instead of their cooking skills I am fine with it. Besides I tell my kids if folks didn't want to get a reaction out of others they wouldn't pierce or tatt where it can be seen.
Now my only problem so far with this group is the girl with the multi lip piercings since I know mouth & nose piercings harbor more germs than other body piercings I don't care for it in somebody cooking for me.
We had a big thunderstorm so kept losing the signal I will have to wait until Top Chef Masters is over to watch TC all the way through.

Last season took a while to get to know and decide who was good and who wasn’t, and I imagine this season will be the same way
I really liked Carla Stephen and Fabio. They were talented and great fun. I didn’t care for the winner and his silly girlfriend, but it was an enjoyable season.
This season has an interesting, (on paper) group. It looks like Michael will be the resident misogynist and blowhard extraordinaire
So far, my main complaint about the group is HAIR. There is too much of it, and it is grungy and sticking out all over the place, including overbearing beards. Big beards shed a lot of hair. Please people, keep hair tied back or covered, and hot sweaty bald people need to wear bandannas. People preparing food and touching hair full of product is so gross.
It’s hard to believe these people work in nice restaurants. A few look professional, but most of them look a mess.
Dear Cheftestants,
Hygiene….Learn it…Live it….Love it
