I can't remember everyone's name yet, but I must say, I really like Hector. I think it's more because of his personality than anything else. I also like the V brothers, but I think Bryan needed to pull something out last night, after a horrible start.

The female chef who did the two dishes is not looking at the big picture. Yes, she may have had time to do another dish, but if she wasn't going to be able to make it spectacular, she should have stuck with the one amazing dish she did.

The guy from Haiti is flying under the radar. I think he may be the sleeper chef of the season. Nothing I can explain, I just get the feeling he's holding back to see what the others will do first.

It is going to take me some time to get all the names straight as well.

The girl that made 2 dishes~~~I could very well see the judges especially Tom ripping her a new one if she just did the watermelon dish. Saying "you had all this time and this is what we get from you". So she would have been one of those damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Hector~~~if he doesn't speed up is going to fall victim to time management and plating. The others will grow tired quickly of helping him once they get back to individual challenges. Right now my impression of him is he can cook some amazing foods but he kind of has a laziness/slow style about him. Like when I get it on the table it will worth the wait. Which could very well be true but not a good thing to have in a competition.

Of course the producers are going to use the 2 brothers as a viewer draw for as long as they can. I'm glad both of them did well last night. Fabio and Stephan anyone?

I like the one chick that won the first quick fire so far. The lip rings chick will be gone soon.

I've decided I like Brian (that's the brother that's not from California, right?) and anyone who doesn't make scallops, this year.

yeah - it's not like there was much to that dish. it was basically just cutting & assembling. it might have tasted good but i could see them saying "that's all you did?"

also - how irritating that there's a picture of the panna cotta on the top chef page but not the watermelon carpaccio? i'd really like to get a closer look at that thing.

Preeti and lip ring (LR) will be gone soon. LR was CRYING for Pete's sake! There's no crying in Top Chef!
There's definitely some dead wood, but I agree, the brothers will be around, the one woman (Jen?) and then we'll see who else ups their game.

I love to watch this show, although I would never put in my mouth half the things they come up with. I'm a simple food person and not a gourmet food person.

I watch to see how well they seem to accomplish the tasks they are given and if I can relate at all to what they've done...oh, and because there's not much else on during the summer. haha

I've liked the winners they've picked so far and agreed with who they sent packing...so far so good.

I like Hector and the brothers too. I didn't mind Ashley, the 2 dish girl, until she double dipped while tasting the watermelon. Ewwwww! After watching Chopped this week, I can't stand the double dipping stuff. Makes me want to avoid restaurants!

I'm sorry, but I can't understand anything Hector says.

I don't really know any of the others. I thought it was really unprofessional of the guys to jump in the pool.

I totally agree! I couldn't believe they did that. That is definitely not what I would want to see at my party.
