The show originated in the UK just like Dancing with the Stars did but under different names of course.

I wouldn't compare Victoria Beckham to Hilton simply because Victoria Beckham actually does something, not too mention she is married with children, its not easy to maintain any marriage these days nevermind one in the public eye.

I should imagine she will make a little more sense then Paula Abdul did, there were times when Abdul was just so out of it that I was embarassed for her.

Still, honestly, I don't think Victoria Beckham is a good choice - don't tell me she ever was a great singer! I think they should have chosen someone who really is talented. But maybe it's not what they are looking for? Which I think is sad...

LOL, thats the big joke on British chat shows, that Victoria Beckham can't sing. I can't say I can back that up since I was never a Spice Girl fan. I saw one interviewer say as much to some of the other Spice Girls that were appearing on his show and they didn't deny his accusation that she couldn't sing.

They may have been in something of a rush to choose. I had heard it wasn't a sure thing she was going to remain, that she was only going to be a guest at this point.

Why can't all of you just enjoy the singing and accept Paula is gone. She was the least influential judge on the panel. Listen to one of her songs on youtube or wherever and tell me she should be judging people on how they sing. I watched the show despite that because it never was the Paula Abdul Variety hour. Its about the singers, not the judges and Idol will continue to pump out amazing talent despite who is on the judging panel.

I hope what you wrote is true. I found this article from a UK paper. Sometimes info is shared in the UK before it becomes public knowledge in the US.

Really, I like watching her. On the show I saw about her getting ready to move to the US, I thought she seemed very nice and fun. She joked about putting on her sourpuss face for the papparazzi. I love seeing her outfits..so chic.
I heard she said she was not in negotiatons to be a regular, only a guest judge. Why is a 4th judge necessary?
