What Do You Think About Victoria Beckham Being the New American Idol Judge? (Lost, show)

According to the UK papers Victoria has just signed a 3 million (pounds) deal to replace Paula Abdul. In the British paper it was reported that the execs are more concerned with her thin appearance and her english accent then anything else. IMO, I think most Amercians have a hard time with her because she comes off a little snobish and more similar to a Paris Hilton type. Paula, on the other hand has more respect musically and as a person. Maybe because she's been around the music industry for 30 years. Also, she seems more caring and warm hearted. I think this will significantly impact the show. Btw, the show is called "American" idol and I kinda resent too many Brits being on the panel. I'm not sure I will watch it this year. If I do it won't be as frequent and not with the same enthusiam. What are your thoughts?

They haven't aired an episode yet so I need to wait and see before I can decide. She can't be any worse than Paula. I felt she added no value to the show with her empty drug induced comments.

I think this is the worst idea since Bush was elected.
Everyone knows that Posh Spice was the only one out of all Spice Girls who couldn't carry a tune, and that says a lot because Spice Girls overall weren't great singers.
She has no business judging singers AT ALL.

I never liked the Spice Girls and especially their silly little nicknames. I don't give much thought or credit to her musically at all. As far as my perception of her it's as Mrs. David Beckham...and I'm not all that impressed with him either. haha

Reviews I've read of her sitting on the panel have been that she is stone cold. Not what I want to see.

yep......it has lost it's appeal. Best thing a show can do is quit while ahead. This show should have been over a few seasons back.

oh yea, she can be worse than Paula. Maybe Victoria should ask Paula for a few of those drugs. Then she might emote some sign of life.

Ick. I think she'd be horrid. In addition to the complaints above about her being a snobby, talentless, cold, stick - she looks too much like the other skinny new host who at least has some ability and warmth. Ewww. I hope this is just a rumor - why can't they just leave it with three judges - 4 was overkill.

I agree that at times Paula was a little airheaded but that was part of her charm. My main question is why would they replace her with someone like this?

okay well the first thing to come to my mind is how is she qualified to make any kind of judgement on that show or is it just because she was a singer with the pussycat dolls ? who makes these decision about who will be a judge on that show ?

I really think Idol's days are numbered,especially if Victoria Beckham is going to be a judge. I think alot of fans are going to tune out this year.
