i just finished watching the episode and really liked seeing house put into an uncomfortable situation and working through it by himself. the bond with the psychiatrist will be a nice change of pace for the upcoming season.

Same here. The whole time I was thinking it was happening again and thought it was going to be explained when he was telling him he wont like it if he got the overnight pass.

I wasn't sure I would like this episode as well, but as it turns out, I found it to be both interesting and entertainig. The show had some touching moments and Hugh Laurie was brilliant, as usual. I didn't miss the other hospital characters that much.

OK I just watched and I loved it. Can't say it was missing anything. I loved his sarcasm, honesty, humor and just a bit of realness with his brief heart break. but I am sure some of that will disappear as the weeks go on.....Can't wait!

I thought the 2 hour premiere was a great 2 hours of television. great story . great writing as usual.
However, I hope this doesn't become a "jump the shark" moment for the show and we start seeing a kinder, gentlet House from now on. I fear that will ruin the show.

I liked it a great deal. It is one of the best shows on television. Hugh Laurie is terrific, but the whole cast is fine.

The first hour, I was worrying, how many eps are we doing in ward 6?! I want my medical format back. Then the 2nd hour pulled it together, although I kept waiting for there to be a mysterious meidacal malady on the ward that House solved.

In the end, I was satisfied with it and I'm glad we're going back to the hospital!

HUGE Hugh Laurie fan checking in! At first I was boooooooooored. But it did all get tied together at the end. It wasn't without its plot holes, but Laurie is such an amazing actor that almost anything can be forgiven. When they showed him crying at the end of the love scene, it took my breath away.

Did anyone recognize the song they played at the end of the episode? The voice sounded like Glen Hansard. In fact, much of the storyline between House and the married woman was reminiscent of the movie, Once (which I have a feeling was no accident).

I enjoyed the episode, but that was kind of a quick recovery! Let's see if he's really changed-I kind of hope not too much.
