Default Dirty Jobs

I know there must be a "Dirty Jobs" thread somewhere in this section, but I'm too lazy to find it. The new season starts this Tuesday and I'm very excited about that. I think Mike Rowe is incredibly sexy and funny, but most importantly he gives us insight into what other people are out there doing for us so that our lives can be better.

DJ's is a great show. It's amazing how many jobs out there (big and small) it takes for us to live in a civilized society.

my favorite episode ever is the lake erie watersnake episode. I double over laughing every time and I know that makes me a bad person.

DJ's is one those shows that you can watch over and over and still like! I can't tell you how many times I've seen some episodes, but it still pulls me in.

I too like Mike's wit in the various situations that he finds himself in. It's an added treat when the person on screen with him, that normally does the job, can play along while educating Mike.

Favorite episode? I think mine is the pig farmer that uses the Vegas casino leftovers to feed the farm. (I also like the New Orleans episode with the cute mosquito breeder girl! )

The Discovery Channel/Dirty Jobs site forum was abuzz with the episode from Tuesday (mainly about the mattress reclamation). A few were a little put out by his joke referencing wrestling with a fat woman and riding a moped. Being quite portly myself, I found no fault in it and laughed both at the joke and the reaction by the man Mike Rowe was working with at the time.

It's sorta like I pointed out in my post...if I were gonna be sensitive about my weight, I'd lose it (the weight I mean).

I love Mike Rowe , the man is hilarious and so utterly willing to do anything, make a complete fool of himself and yet entertain and educate at the same time. I love his interactions with the crew as well - doesn't Barsky have his own groupies by now? And yes, I watch reruns of the episodes again and again, even if I know exactly what's going to happen. My favourites include cranberry farming, painting that bridge in Michigan, shaving the alpacas and the caving one where he got stuck. I even liked both of the tannery episodes.

I love the way Mike Rowe maintains a spirit of humor and lightheartedness, yet doesn't belittle or make fun of the person who actually makes a living doing this job. He imparts a sense of respect in spite of having fun.

And...he is so darned cute!
