LOL I love the weather channel! I watch it right before I go to bed and in the morning while i get ready for work. I admit, it has ALOT of commercials, but I can't think of any cable station that doesn't. I just really watch it for the scrolling daily weather on the bottom of the screen!

Everytime I tune in to find out weather, all I see is what's happening on the East Coast....unless something particularly unusual is happening somewhere else....Kind of like ESPN....I always forget what the times are that gives a small break for the local weather. Unless I happen to be traveling to the East, I don't really tune in.

I don't think I've ever seen it. If I want the weather, I step outside.

Uh, I don't know about leaving the house with a sweater but it's very handy if there is tornado activity in your area. Also, I like Local on the 8s.

LMBO !! I didn't even need to read the entire post to know what you're talking about. I cant stand that channel either, you're not alone.
I think they even have reality shows too. But the commercials, are just another reason why the channel kinda sucks.
I wanted to know the weather once and too k the channel to see how many degrees it was and believe it or not, it was on commercial break LOL !! And it took so long to come back to program.
Unbelievable man!! When I want to know the weather, I check it on my cell phone or on the Internet. Its much faster and no commercial breaks

Our local on the 8's is useless because we have Dish Network. It just shows the national map.

The only time everyone I know is an avid Weather Channel fan is when we are watching for an attack from a big hurricane. I used to live on the coast and the whole neighborhood would have it on. Even the kids were watching.

If a tornado or hurricane is coming it is a life saver.
I have to agree its gone downhill with the "stories" and useless information........
I did like seeing all the snow in Denver last week. It looked so nice ......Its enjoyable to see weather on the spot like that. Trucks going down the snow covered highways......snow piling up.
I've liked it when they are there during a harsh storm, letting us see whats going on.
However.......More time should be spent in different areas. Showing us the live reports........
I don't mind that, and I enjoy seeing what kind of weather my firends in other states are having.
If they would only go back to showing" live" weather all the time, along with our own local areas.....
The rest is quite boring. If I want to see a Perfect Storm it runs on regular channels all the time.

We use to watch the Weather Channel too ... but no more ... since NBC bought it everything has changed. Living on the east coast, in hurricane central, we were always tuned to TWC if a storm was heading our way.
NBC bought TWC in 2008 and we haven't had a hurricane hit us since the purchase. I don't know if they will follow a hurricane now as was done in the past (24/7) since they don't follow weather too well anymore.
