Loud Commercials on TV
Does anyone have one of those devices that go on the back of your tv that reduces the noise level of commercials and tv shows to the same level of sound? How well do they work. It seems after years of waiting for the FCC to do something about it they won't. So I heard about this.

Wow, I would love to have one of those!
I've never heard of them before. I detest and deplore those loud commercials.
Actually, maybe I should not get one of those devices.
It might make me watch more TV.
As it is now, I mostly just watch Scrubs reruns, The Daily Show and Colbert, and I use the Mute button when the commercials come on.

We specifically bought our t.v. because it had Smart Sound on it - how annoying the commercials can be! Fortunately, this one almost reduces the volume of commercials to just about nothing....Oh, and that's why God made TiVo....just scan through the commercials and carry on!

Wow! I didn't know they existed! We recently looked over about 12-15 different tvs to buy. We just bought a 50" Plasma and believe me if I wouldv'e seen one with that feature, I think we definitely would have considered buying it! Those commercials are so annoying, especially when everyone's watching tv but the baby is napping! uggh!
I would love to find some sort of device that can be attached to the tv also! I hope someone comes along with the answer....I especially hate those commercials for the car dealerships!

I can't bring myself to listen to any of BM is that billy mays or BIG MOUTH or bm? ...and I DO NOT PURCHASE ANY OF THE ITEMS THAT HE TOUTS IN MY HOME.
I purchased a
BOSE SOUND and watch tv using the bose for the volume on my tv..all i do is hit MUTE, AND PEACE RETURNS TO MY SPIRIT. i would guess you have a mute button on your remote...give it a try, and use it. Shut the BM off.

Smart Sound should be an option on all televisions. But I am a mute button fanatic. My FF button on my DVR remote helps to eliminate commercial noises. I rarely watch anything live just so I can FF through the commercials.

You & I have the exact same viewing habits. In fact, the FF button on my DVR is starting to wear out
