Mt-7, I did see her fly-fishing - she and Gail both were pretty funny wading and casting

I won't say OkraH either - it's Okra - no H.
Missed most of last week's shows but here's what's coming up next week...
Monday - Controversy behind MJ's last album...and J Franzen interview
Tuesday - America's worst cooks rescued by Jessica Seinfeld
Wednesday - How Wynonna Judd survived the ultimate betrayal
Thursday - Dr William Petit about CT family tragedy
Friday - 23 years later - return to Williamson, WV
Hmmm...probably will skip most of these...
- Not into MJ mania but might tune in for the Franzen part - that's an odd combo.
- Seinfeld seems pretty one-note about how to trick kids into eating veggies.
- Not sure I can handle more Wynonna drama -she always comes off as sort of whiny in a gruff 'i'm coping with everything' way.
- I'll probably tune into the Petit story
- not sure what williamson is all about - anyone else know?
Friday's WV epi is a repeat. It is the town that shunned their homosexual aids citizen. It is from when Oprah did the show there back then and talks to some of the same peeps today. Wed is a repeat as well. Wynonna (yawn). And Jessica Seinfeld does absolutely nothing for me. Does she think women with blenders in the 50's didn't pulp veggies into kids food?

oops sorry about the typoI also think that the shows are mostly repeats think I may skip this week
so, I tuned in today for the last 15 minutes or so because that's about all I can stomach of Oprah and I wanted to see Debbie Boone. Debbie still looks so young and is gracious and can sing beautifully. I about spit my drink out though when the camera(of course!!) panned to the Oprah who was singing or mouthing the words and she looked like a doofus azz.
Ha, you're funny, if i was drinking something when i read your post, i would've spit my drink out!!!!!!!!!!
So, I'm half watching Okra today - what a bizarre mix of topics.
First there was a short piece with Michelle Rhee to see what she's doing next now that she quit the DC public school system. She's doing something on her own nationwide for kids and education...missed the details
The second section was about a family who was friends with Michael Jackson for years but kept it a secret. Now they're showing pictures and sharing stories. There was something creepy and almost gruesome/vulture like about it.
Now she'll be interviewing Jonathan Franzen...bbl...
Alright - I watched the Franzen interview too. He came off well, I thought, but I like smart writers - some people will still think he's a snob, I'm guessing. I'd forgotten that he was the author who snubbed the book club in 2001!

I quit reading Oprah's book recommendations a long time ago because they were all so dang d-e-p-r-e-s-s-i-n-g. And I rarely read fiction. I had NO idea who Franzen was. I thought he was a snob.

I love reading fiction but was choosing my own stuff instead of following her book club. I'd already read most or all of the classics/older lit that she recommended anyway. I did read a few selections that were current at the time - and a couple probably were because they got so popular from her club. I guess I was as snobby as Franzen, though, because I remember hating that mammoth "oprah book club" sticker on the front of those few books LOL. My two favorites that were current back then were Poisonwood Bible (Kingsolver) and She's Come Undone (Lamb).
I'm in an unproductive mood and have a feeling I'll be half-watching Seinfeld on Okra today Good timing since I'm having spaghetti sauce thickened with carrot shavings today LOL.
