While watching the final December episode of Flash Forward, they showed several scenes on a television of Boris Karloff playing Jacob Marley opposite a famous British actor we've seen in dozens of productions but I cannot locate his name. It was a black and white and looks like it was made in the 40's. But checking Karloff's filmography I cannot locate him ever appearing in this role and goggle doesn't list all 27 film versions of this, best as I can research it. Is anyone aware of this version?

I think John Barrymore played one of the Scrooges in film. Also Alastair Cook?

I know there was a film called " A Universal Horror Christmas Carol" or something like that with Basil Rathbone ( famous as Sherlock Holmes) and Boris Karloff but I think it was never released ...

No, I know that version and Boris Karloff did not play Jacob Marley. This is going to haunt me like the three ghosts, but, like Mick Jagger, I will never get satisfaction.

I know it's been a LOT of years since the question was asked, but just in case anyone still cares, and for those who find their way here in the future...

Boris Karloff never played Marley, but the actor (John Le Mesurier) in this version of "A Christmas Carol" looks a lot like him. And the actor in the role of Scrooge is Michael Horndern.
