Since the 00s was the decade of 'reality tv' I'll go with my favorite rtv show: the First 48. It's a real life detective show with real murder scenes, real detectives, and real criminals.

Here is a sample of one episode from 2005 detailing the rape and murder of a small town Nevada girl who just moved to Las Vegas by a man hiding in her apartment. The ending is incredible (not in a good way).
