I missed the Rupert season and don't really see the appeal of him but agree it's too bad about the toe...especially because feet are gross and I don't wanna keep hearing about them
Agree with pretty much all of Ket's people comments except that I can't stand Cerie.
Anyone remember the rumors that Jerri and Dimples (Jeff Probst) actually dated?
Say it isn't so - did our Tami actually diss Russhole?
about Sugar and the pen - I don't care if she's there or not right now but think Cerie would have been a better choice.
Did anyone see who hurt Steph's shoulder? I was only half watching and remember hearing someone shout "break her shoulder" as it was happening but didn't see who was doing the pulling. I'm surprised we didn't see a reprimand on camera for that - like last year when the country boy kicked someone.
It was a great Season. Before being taken to their destination, they were all dropped at a little town, given a set amount of money and instructed to buy whatever they could to take to the island with them. They all took off their fancy American shoes and put on running shoes because they had a time limit. Rupert took their shoes and sold them giving his Tribe much more money to deal with.
Also, this was back when they dropped them in the clothes they were wearing and that's all you had. Rupert was in blue jeans that stayed wet and they chaffed him raw. HIs tribe won a sewing machine and some fabric. He made himself a skirt which he wore the rest of the Game. He was great. When he was voted off, I got a phone call from a friend and she was weeping. He was adored.
Okay it's all over for the West Coasters. I guess we really weren't surprised who got voted out. It was a good show and interesting to watch the people who were familiar. I usually spend the first five episodes trying to remember who everyone is on the regular shows.
I have a question. I can understand them calling the "Villians" villians but why are the others Heroes? I mean isn't the opposite of villians "good guys?" I like the "Good Guys" team. Or maybe "The Nice Guys." I wonder what they will all be called at the merge. At that point they will no longer be villians or heroes. I have to think about this one. LOL!
Responding to the bolded statement: Thank you, for that question. In all honesty, I think that, alone, maybe the reason I couldn't get into last nights show. I realize it's only a "word", but it Hero a sacred meaning, in my world.
I'm another Rupert lover. When he broke his toe all I could think of was how awful this new series would be with him gone on the first show. (Of course I'm sure the producers and suits at CBS were thinking the same thing.)
I haven't seen every season of the show so some of these players I'm not familiar with. Like Sugar. But one episode of her was enough. "Toss her! Toss her!"
Coach is so annoying he's loveable in a "what will that jerk do next?" kind of a way.
I have to say I laughed so hard last night the cold beverage I was enjoying came out my nose.
You know, everyone seems to dislike Russell.....Have we all forgotten what the show is all about. Remember the show is "to out wit..out play...out last". In last season he found all the idols (out play)...convinced people to vote out others (out play & out wit). The only thing he didn't do is out play (win) according to the jury. We the fans voted him as "Player if the Season" so I guess people really thought he was a great player. If he was on the first season, he would be lauded as the greatest player. What is the difference between him and Richard Hatch? The winners of previous seasons were "evil" just like Russell. Only difference? He just wasn't afraid to tell the cameras how he was.
Well I guess Eric summed it up pretty well last season during the final tribal council.
"Why should we reward Russel with a million dollars for being a bastard?" He dumped out everyone's water, threw socks in the fire, and lied to everyone he made alliances with.
Is that the message we want to send to our youngsters? That we should reward evil?
After all it's a family show.
Jeff DID reprimand for the "Break her shoulder" comment.
He said "Play Nice."
I thought he said that about the guy getting his leg all bent back. I mean they weren't even fighting for the bag. Just guy on guy hurting guy.
I loooooved Boston Rob - I go crazy when people don't immediately want to get the camp set up - fire, water, shelter are all so important to feeling mentally and physically fit for challenges. I hate non team players, drama queens, lazy etc. So that's why people like BR and Stephanie tend to be my favorites.
People who don't care are those who feel that they aren't immediate tgts so why should they waste energy for the team.
Since I am a - we are a team till individual challenges and the goal is never to go to tribal council - anything that makes the team stronger gets me to individual challenges in the best shape I can be.
So...I was for the Sugar vote off stragegy vs. the vote off the strong first strategy
And Boston Rob - one of the other times they one the prize for the best outhouse - he can build, he can make fire, he can laugh and joke around and be social - definately a power player - I really hope he is ok.
Tyson's face when he saw the fire start from the two sticks was priceless! That camera man deserves a bonus - Tyson looked so blankly stupid.
Is it me or does Coach seem different? He seems more relaxed and easy going, something going on underneath - maybe its the edit, maybe it was the edit before

LOL I missed the Tyson fire scene but love your description - wish I'd caught that
Couch (purposeful typo) looked softer and all doe-eyed in love with Jerri. His hair is so stringy/greasy looking - yuck.
I thought that was when Russell was trying to break Tom's leg/hip.
You are correct, Ket.

No, it was Russell.
This could be good, there really is alot of Survivor talent in this batch.
Speaking of talent, Parvati is still a stunner. For me she is THE most attractive woman on TV, and aside from being a hyper-flirt, her personality and brain are fine too.

Totally agree, toosie.
Like toosie said, 60's, great recap of Rupert's season. My husband loves him too.
Rudy is the name of the older, nasty guy. If you are new to Survivor, believe me, he's real nasty. The only thing he had to love him back was his dog and that dog has been dead for 6-7 years (maybe more now, I forget how many years ago his season was) and he just hates every other human being on the planet.

That's Randy, not Rudy. (Rudy was the Navy SEAL from Season 1.)
