I was lucky enough to see some of the classics out of the U.S when I was little, in the 1960s. I think my favorite though, was "The Man From UNCLE"...not sure if that was U.S produced. "I Love Lucy", "I Dream of Jeanie", and "Combat" were also compulsory viewing. Oh, and "Lost in Space" I always wanted to be Penny.
Are any of you old enough to remember shows like Dragnet, Adam 12 and Emergency? I am collecting DVDs of those shows! I also enjoy Barney Miller and All in the Family on cable! I am OLD I guess.
Yeap i still remember those from the early 70's and also i liked back then Dark Shadows, The Mod Squad, Six Million Dollar Man, Land of the Giants, Charlies Angels along with Roller Derby that was on every saturday night back in the early/mid 70's
Dragnet was a 60s to early 70s show with Jack Webb who then went on to produce Adam 12 and Emergency which were also successful multi season shows in the later 70s.
You're not as old as you think...Dragnet was originally a radio show, then became a tv show. It too, was done by Jack Webb and it was considered groundbreaking in its realism. Webb perfected the deadpan delivery. It's because of this tv show that I found Col. Potter on MASH soooo funny.

Remember Alfred Hitchcock Presents? He used to walk up to that line drawing profile and stop right in front of it. Then he'd make a comment about the upcoming show in that deadpan voice.
You might recall Perry Mason then! I was a small kid whan that was on.

Do you by any chance remember a similar show called "One Step Beyond"? It was a lot like Twilight Zone, except that the narrator strongly implied that these were based on true events. I was absolutely mesmerized by them. I was able to get a DVD collection of them a few years back. It was fun to watch them, but talk about dated! I couldn't believe how much TV has changed over the years.

Age is a state of mind. I watched all of those shows in first-run (I'm waiting the release of 6th season Emergency! with bated breath -- it should have been out this month, but it's been delayed), and don't consider myself old at all. BTW, I'll be 55 in July.
