I'm biased, have only watched SVU, though may try out CSI and NCIS one day. SVU is draining on me lately; way too much focus on the detectives' personal issues
Of these four I voted for CSI. It has waned in the last couple of years but I still enjoy it. I figure it has probably another two seasons left. Never could get hooked on CSI New York or CSI Miami though.
I have just started watching Bones. I was aware of its existence but never really heard much about it. It is growing on me but I haven't seen enough episodes to really get a feel for it yet.
Have never seen L&O SVU.
Can't stand NCIS! This show bores me. I use to watch it more often the first couple of seasons but after they killed off Kate I lost interest. It is a little too military-oriented for my tastes and I don't really care for any of the characters but maybe one.
NCIS is the only one of the 4 I really don't like . I find it very stilted somehow and none of the characters work for me at all.
I love CSI but Grissom leaving has had a huge detrimental effect on the show IMO. Langston is good but it's not the same. I was never a big fan of Katherine either. So with Warwick gone there is too much missing. I still enjoy it but no way near as much. I am a big fan of CSI New York though.
SVU is one thing one of the best piece of sheer acting on Television and yes the issues they deal with are really painful but it is still show which blows me away with the sheer talent of its actors and the brilliance of its scripts.
I love Bones but it's not as good as SVU, the acting is good but I don't feel there is that raw talent. It's more superficial somehow.
Dexter is one of my current favourites though. A very tight script and the characters have all been developed beautifully. It also still holds your interests by being unpredictable in many ways.
I used to really like CSI, but the whole CSI format has gotten old to me. I've just started getting into Criminal Minds...excellent show. Never watched NCIS or Bones.
