I watched "The Price is Right" with Drew Carey as the host. I hadn't seen it since Bob Barker left. I was shocked by the changes. Contestants were apparently told to exaggerate their excitement and some apparently chosen to keep the viewers watching. One lady had huge boobs and a tight t-shirt. So contrived, gimmicky, and excessive. Display girls were incredible-looking as usual. Hard to turn away from them if they were wearing bikinis. Drew Carey just so dry and bland though. The magic of the show gone with the departure of Bob Barker's very genune and professional presentation. He was a natural. This fake version just not the same. A reflection of the general decline in the quality of TV programming no doubt.

What are your opinions of the show?

I like Drew Carey as the host much better. He seems to be respectful to the contestants and doesn't have that aloofness attitude the show host previously had.

I think they just need to switch hosts. John Oherlihy( Jay Peterman from " Seinfeld") would be perfect for that job, right down to resembling Bob Barker. Likewise Drew Carey would be a much better fit for " Family Feud". They have Steve Harvey on it now and the guy is just death, the king of coma. Its unwatchable.

I never knew Bill Cullen did the Price is Right.

It takes some getting used to seeing Drew as the MC on PIR .

Yes Bob had alot going but then again he was getting quite old so you figure they are going to do Bob just what they do to all aging employees. Send them out to Pasture...

If I had a choice it would be Bob but 20 years ago

I thought Bob Barker was really condescending towards women and while it is different seeing Drew host the show, and I continually wonder why he chose to do it, I like him alot.

I think we just get used to something if it's around for a long time and while a lot changed, Price is Right was always fairly consistent for a few decades.

I don't watch it much, but I'm okay with Drew. When they were trying to decide on someone before, I was afraid they might pick Rosie O'Donnell, who I can't stand!

Oh yes, I very well remember TPIR with Bill Cullen. The game show players seemed so well behaved back then as I watch some of the old reruns. Remember Queen for a Day and tic tac toe?
