I really find these shows to be "airheaded" and offensive; NO OFFENSE if you like them. Different strokes for different folks. But to ME; these shows are poor excuses for intelligent entertainment and are mainly "HATEFESTS"...think Simon Cowell!!! Also these shows are relatively "cheap" to produce and "rake" in MILLIONS!!!
I refuse to watch them. Remember when reality tv consisted of documentaries on PBS? I miss that. I feel bad for the person I sit next to at work. She comes in and gets excited while telling me all about "American Idol" and "Real Housewives" and "Jersey Shore" and I don't have the heart to tell her I've never seen an episode of any of them (outside of the first season of "American Idol"). But hey, she likes it, so good for her.

I agree...I love reality shows...THAT is SCIENCE; Documentaries and Educational shows etc....not those "other" type of shows...Like let's go dancing with the "has been" stars...LOL.
I'm not into singing/dancing reality shows. I used to watch American Idol, but I stopped about the time Carrie Underwood won. I think many reality shows fulfill their purpose for a short time and then they become obsolete. In my world, AI became obsolete some years ago. To each his own
I find shows like American Idol, Dancing With The Stars etc unbelievably boring and never watch them, the "talent show" format is just not my thing.
My husband loves Survivor and The Amazing Race - I'm not wild about those shows either but can sit through them - I couldn't sit through five minutes of American Idol or Dancing With The Stars.
