Did any of you see the Miss Universe contest on last night? Miss USA was booed so loud down there in Mexico it was difficult to hear what she was saying. It was also reported everywhere they went for the photo shoots during the week she was also booed.

I didn't see it but heard some clips- she was booed until she started speaking spanish in which they cheered. As I understand it there's a long rivalry between Mexico and the US in the pageants.

I heard on the news that the booing was because of the recent backlash against illegal mexican immigrants............

Miss USA was great. She kept her composer. She held her head high. Because of all of this in the news, I know who she is. I have great respect for her on how she handled everything.

Interesting...I thought she was booed because she made it in the top 5 after falling so hard while Ms. Mexico did not.

I agree!

I also think the media read into things too much, IMHO.

This is actually typical of them. Just like when the US soccer team played the Mexican team in the qualifiers for the 2004 Olympics. As soon as the American team entered the stadium down there the Mexicans started booing and chanting "OSAMA OSAMA OSAMA."

They love our money, hate our country.
