That's not really a composition.....that's just "sound". We're kinda thinking of memorable stuff.
Perhaps you could be more clear on what your criteria is.
Also, short as it is the music at the beginning of Lost definitely qualifies as and original composition. It was composed by J.J. Abrams and performed by the Hollywood Studio Symphony Orchestra. Just because it doesn't have a snappy chorus or simplistic series of notes doesn't mean it is "just sound".

LOL Sounds like an orchestra tuning up, getting ready to play some real music.
It does qualify as music, though. It is an original composition and it is sepcifically designed to be minimal and to ratchet up tension. It is more than a "sound". A good example of a show with just a sound and not a them is Supernatural. There isn't a theme to speak of, just a sound effect that changes every season.
Would it kill some of you to just say what it was vs all the youtube links?
Anyway, for me this is easy: Star Trek. I'm no hard core "trekkie" but the music was just classic stuff.
