Anyone catch Prince Poppycock on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno tonight. Looks mlike he's got his start now. He gets $500.00 for that stint. And I have to admit he did very well.
Really?? Seriously $500?? That's all Leno pays..what a cheapa**. I love Poppycock
Well, as expected, it sounds like Jackie is already being bombarded with offers. According to an article in the Las Vegas Weekly, Jackie begins work on an album (to be released at X-mas) next week. The article also claims that she has a 6-figure offer on the table to perform solo in Vegas immediately after the AGT tour is completed (no indication whether or not she's accepted the offer). I'm sure there are PLENTY of other offers flowing in.
Here's a REALLY interesting article about what's going on with Michael Grimm and some of the other AGT contestants. He seems like a REALLY NICE guy and I'm very happy for him. I find it pretty cool how just a year ago he was entertaining diners in Hank's steakhouse at Green Valley Ranch just outside LV and now he's returning to the area in the big time. He also speaks very highly of Jackie (no surprise there as I remember him bending down to talk to her many times during the AGT show - including to comfort her when she lost out to him in the finals).
He is a big fan of Evancho. "If I had children, I wish I could have one like that," Grimm said. "I think we're looking at a superstar right there and it's an honor to be onstage with her, even though it frightened me. Maybe we'll figure out something to do in the future. As she gets a little older, do a duet."
In the past I have had a knack for picking the 2nd place finisher, I was rooting for Cas Haley, although I wasn't disappointed to see Terry Fador win, then I wanted Eli Mattson to win, last season I didn't watch much, and this season I picked Michael Grimm at his audition, but I would have been happy to see fighting gravity win, when it came down to Jackie and Michael I thought for sure I picked the 2nd place finisher again.

It's the standard appearance fee for all the people that come onto the variety shows no matter who they are.
It doesn't matter which talk show anyone is on, they get the basic union scale of $500.00. You hear many times celebrities stating in jest "I get $500.00 for doing this...whatever it is silly thing".
The promoting of their new show or movie is why most go on these shows.
Though some popular celebrities do get their travel fees and other expenses paid.
Well, as I've pointed out before, the grand prize is NOT really a "Vegas Show". It USED to be a show (a single performance - NOT a perminent show) in Vegas but this year they changed it so that rather than a single Vegas performance it is instead a nationwide tour with a SINGLE STOP in Vegas. In that regard Vegas is a city like any other city on the tour.
Also, ALL the Top Ten acts take part in that tour - and that INCLUDES Jackie - so in regards to the AGT top prize, Jackie will spend just as much time performing in Vegas as Grimm (ie ONE NIGHT).
Yeah, that's what I thought too. And I kept wondering why they were constantly saying the prize was a Vegas show when ALL of them will be performing. I live in Vegas, so I decided to go to the show (just bought tickets yesterday). Why not? Something fun a different to do.

After you go to the show, report back, I'd be curious to hear about how it went.
BTW Michael grimm is not new to the Vegas entertainment business: In 2000, Grimm was encouraged to move to Las Vegas because of the abundance of work. He worked in Las Vegas with many different artists, learning and playing a wide variety of musical styles. He eventually formed his own three-piece band, working in small local bars, casino lounges, and a few Vegas steakhouses. When he auditioned for America's Got Talent, he had a goal - to show his appreciation to his grandparents. Just like many others, his grandparents lost everything in the Hurricane Katrina disaster. Grimm, now having won "America's Got Talent" can give his grandparents the home they lost.

I agree that Grimm seems not to have the ego that overshadows his talent. I love the way he is not in your face, promoting himself the way some others do.
That song performed by Poppycock and Donna Summers seemed way out of his style and only chosen to highlight her majesty. Sad that someone thought her so weak in her art that they had to choose such a selection.
It seems to me, who knows little of music, that there are a lot of 'crossovers'. I used to think Sinatra was popular and now I see him listed as jazz sometimes.
It can be very confusing for me, but thank you for clearing up that definition of 'opera'. I often wondered about how it is categorized.
