It never fails, no matter how they package him, or it, whatever it is, there's something creepy about the Burger King king. He has this perpetual plastic leer I find very unnerving. There's an ad where he awakens in bed with another man and all I could think of was Woltz waking-up with (parts of) Khartoum in The Godfather. Perhaps it's the sinister corporatism? The unblinking, benignly grinning glossiness of the head attached to a human body?

It's not like fast food mascots regularly bother me. Ronald McDonald, the Big Boy, Colonel Sanders, Wendy; I'm OK with them all. They seem friendly enough, I even have fond memories of a Mayor McCheese drinking glass I got once. But the king... he's one of the Four Horsemen in my book.

He is creepy and their new add campaign makes him look even creepier! I can only think of one BK in the next town over from us. McDonalds is #1 here!

Yes!!!! In fact I have mentioned it in another thread!! Nice to know I'm not the only one. lol He reminds me of a B Type movie Psycho killer that dresses up in a King outfit before he commits the crime!!

I'm not fond of The Big Boy either. It scared me when i was little!! lol

Yes, the main dish here is creepy. Side dishes not too bad, though.

Oh my gosh! Yes, he is extremely creepy. I can't stand those commercials. I always wonder who they were designed for and why. I've never been sure why he creeps me out so much, but he does. Thank you for posting this because now I know I'm not alone.

Ugh! I hate the Burger King!
I like their food, but their mascot is just....wrong!
Poor BK...their ad agency always manages to screw it up!

When those commercials first came out me and one of my friends were watching tv and couldn't believe how freaky the "king" is. Especially the one where the guy woke up by the king.
