Default best dentists/dental hygienists in tyler, tx

can you refer me to dentists here in tyler who would NOT try to rip you off by forcing you into getting services you dont need like x-rays and deep cleaning when you only need routine hygiene? preferably within 10 miles of south broadway or troup highway. thanks!

Dr. Paul Latta, DDS. My mother still uses him (I no longer live in Tyler) and we used his former office mate (Dr. Connally) for decades until Dr. Connally retired. HIGHLY recommend Dr. Latta!

You don't need x-rays?

That is normal procedure at any dental office.

Anyways here is who I use. He's a great guy & very easy going. Anyone reputable in Tyler knows of him or would recommend him.

i have had negative experiences in austin and ohio where even when i was already an established patient, they would force me into getting additional x-rays when all i needed at that time was routine cleaning. anyways, thanks for the recommendation

I can identify with what you say about the dentists in Austin. I, too, encountered that from the "chain dentists" when I moved to Austin, and had the lower priced plan through my state employment where I had to choose from just a few dentists on the list. They required three separate visits just for x-rays and cleaning...with three separate payments each time! (Previously I had only been in smaller cities where those chain dentists didn't exist, and I had good individual dentists on the list from which to choose).

I finally changed my plan to the more expensive option that lets me go to any dentist. I searched around and found an individual dentist here who I like, and who didn't subscribe to that theory of requiring three separate trips just to get your teeth cleaned!

Dr. Latta won't do that to you. He's a very nice, ethical man.

The recommendations would be far more useful if the charge for a standard routine 6 month cleaning was included, as the original post wanted a dentist that wouldn't rip you off.

They often recommend x-rays, but you are not required to get them.
