This will provide a vital link into town & help alleviate traffic on Tyler's traffic choked Southwest Loop.

It should also help spur development on this under developed side of town. Halliburton & Baker Hughes both have offices near there.

This is good news. However, I don't see how it will alleviate traffic on Tyler's traffic choked Southwest Loop. I hope it does but this town is still growing at rapid pace. They need to stop adding stoplights because every direction in Tyler is pretty much congested. They need start to focusing on improving the flow of traffic. I'm not an expert at it and I could be wrong.

Southwest Loop traffic isn't that bad compare to South Broadway and South Loop. Imagine with this continue population explosion growth (Don't know if explosion is the right word) in South Tyler in the next 5 or 10 years, the roads are going to continue to get worse.

I hope this Loop 49 from I-20 near Lindale to U.S. 69 will improve dramatically on the South and West Tyler's traffic.

They are.

Tyler is the first & only city in Texas at the moment using a new technology to monitor its stoplights.

I've posted about it before so I'll have to dig up that thread.

Bicycle lanes strategically placed all over town are also helping.

Wow, I did not know that. Kind of like Tokyo 24/7 Traffic Control Center?

The new ECP has raised landscaped medians, 4 lanes of traffic flow, & bicycle lanes on both sides.
