Looking to move to Tyler next year and our family are huge fans of all things Halloween and Christmas. Was just wondering what goes on there? I see some towns around the country go all out with decorations and such. Where we're from, not a whole lot really happens and it's pretty boring. (Phoenix).

There are a wide variety of expressions here in the Tyler area. Many neighborhoods deck the halls and streets for Christmas. And your home wouldn't be considered weird to be dressed out for Halloween - a good number of families decorate their yards and/or porches for Halloween.

Some neighborhoods are still really big into Halloween trick or treating and others aren't. Lots of parents take their kids to the mall for trick or treating. Lots of parties for adults that time of year at various clubs and restaurants. Some businesses allow and even encourage their employees to dress up for Halloween.

For Christmas there are lots of local activities, both religious and secular.

Huge, neat drive thru Christmas scenes on I-20 and 69 near Lindale. Another one I can't remember this minute where it is located.

Instead of door to door trick or treating, many if not most churches have church activities where they dress-up games, plays have fun and eat.lol
