I'm talking about East Texas Regional Airport between Longview and Kilgore. There are lots of flights in and out of there all day long every day on American Airlines. But they just connect in Dallas.

Commercial Airlines

Same with most of the Tyler flights - most of them just take you to Dallas. But still - if someone is needing to drop you off at the airport, it sure is easier to drop someone off in Tyler, Longview, or Shreveport from Chandler or Tyler than it is to take someone to Dallas usually.

Passenger flights two out in the morning to DFW and two back from DFW only American Eagle serves airport. Just looked it up per ETRA offical website. Four flights

Not really trying to compare, just don't have anything better to do, this minute, Tyler flys US Airway to Houston Intercontinental. Still not much. Extending the runways now to accommodate 707's, a couple years out. Tyler and Longview really to close to Love,DFW, Shreveport to have much. When I was younger, there was talk of combining Tyler and Longview into one airport, of course where to do this could not be agreed upon, lol. you think!

United Airlines not US Airway. Just checked, I new Continental was merged/bought out, wrong airline.
Total 15-16 flights per day, yeah not much, but not 4 flights.

LOL I can only imagine. I don't understand the rivalry between two such distinctly different cities.

I can say, after having lived in both Smith and Gregg Counties, and having much professional interaction in both areas, that Gregg County has, shall we say, a very unique way of doing things...
