More or several large to larger apartments complexes are being built, or will be built on the SW and W sides of Tyler. A large three story complex is being completed on Frankston Highway, 155 South, inside loop, behind the newer Neighborhood Walmart.

City Council approved changed zoning for a larger apartment complex on 31 West, outside the loop on the north side of 31. Developer, I watched P & Z & city council on the cable, told city council that he had BOUGHT the property, and he was from the Dallas area, ready to build.

We found that out when a city councilman asked the developer if he "just" trying to get zoning changed THEN close on the contract, or did the developer OWN the property. The "D" said I own. You see the councilman is in the real estate development business himself, and went on to question the "wiseness," lol, to build apartments "there" even to the point of "pushing" his shoulders up, while seated, and saying, well ok. You know, "body language" meaning, well, I don't see it. The developer had already stated several reasons he thought the time was "ripe" to build.

I was sorta surprised at this type of exchange from council and someone desiring a zoning change. Given the councilman's background, maybe, partially he was trying to see what he might have missed or didn't understand, trying to make sure he hadn't miss this possible money making opportunity, lol.

Long story, as usual, from me, lol. but wanted to give some background, as to how, possibly NOW, if these are built, MORE restaurants, MAY be built in these areas and not just OJH or Broadway. We hope so.

Tyler hamburger joint closes its doors, cites market
It is saturated on one side. If they were to give the West, North, and East side of Tyler a try, I truly believe we'll have less restaurant's closing.
