During the Trout/Cotto fight, it was not difficult to notice the words PUERTO RICO DOES IT BETTER centrally emblazoned on ring's canvas floor.

PUERTO RICO DOES IT BETTER. The words - like the claim - were big, bold, and often stated by Ring Announcer Jimmy Lennon, Jr. prior to each fight.

It's not the first time I've read or heard that statement. I've read it throughout social media networks and have heard it from friends while visiting the island.

Now, here's my question: What exactly is it that Puerto Rico does better?

Before anybody yells, "we've produced 6 Miss Universes, multiple Boxing Champs, and several big screen actors," what else has Puerto Rico "done better?"

I thought that the slogan was mainly geared towards tourism?

I believe this slogan is from the tourism ads, not intended for meaning you and me.

Here's one of the ads:

Corruption, mafia, protecting drug lords, increasing unemployment, decreasing quality of life... Unfortunately there are a lot of negatives that each day can be more and more noticeable...
