I want to find something like the entire mainland US temperature map, but just for PR, that shows the recent temperature for all the major areas of PR, all on 1 map.
The temperature in Puerto Rico is almost always the same: extremely hot and humid
Although once I went to the island and it was very windy ... it was a huge relief from the normal "so hot I can't even move" weather on my trips there.
I have no idea how people can live there without running AC 24/7 ... and the sight of Puerto Ricans wearing jackets and long sleeved shirts just blows my mind

Much depends on location. I'm up high on St Thomas's North side where even in the heat of the summer doldrums (August/September) there's still a nice breeze. At all times of the year there's a significant and noticeable rise in temperature as I drive down to lower elevations just 5 minutes down the mountain. No need for A/C any time of the year and in the summer I supplement the ceiling fans with a portable fan. Same holds true in PR. Location, location!
PS: And in the winter I can be found wearing wooly socks and sweaters when the nights drop to the low 70s!
There are great variations in climate throughout Puerto Rico. It is much cooler (and insect free) in mountain areas. Generally speaking, the south (Caribbean) coast is hotter and drier increasingly so SW.
Unlike Florida, however, nights in hot areas will cool down significantly. In the South the months from December to May are great and not all that hot.
I have two homes 30 miles apart totally different in climate. The mountain home is perfect weather never requiring heat or a/c year round--I think the best climate on earth. It is emerald green here year round. The Carribean home is not comfortable during the day in the summer months without a/c. It is quite dry and brown for much of the year, but usually sunny.
The higher elevations around Toro Negro can be cool enough to wear jackets.
So, yes, there are many climate variations throughout Puerto Rico--all very close to one another. There are monthly temperature variations, but usually seasons are easier distinguished by the amount of rainfall. Everything from desert to rainforest and all in between.
Thanks Sunpup. Which city or area is the "perfect weather never requiring heat or a/c year round--I think the best climate on earth. It is emerald green here year round"? That area sounds like what I want. San Juan is more hot than what I accustomed to and too congested.
