Unfortunately there will still likely be flooding and significant power outages.

Early reports from St. Martin/St. Maarten are very, very bad. The French interior minister says that the 3 biggest buildings on the French side have collapsed. The Dutch government in Amsterdam has lost all communication with their side of the island.

the eye is expected to pass 30-70 miles to the north.

they were trying to get La Perla residents to evacuate

12 minutes ago my friend posted a video of winds hitting Anasco, which is nowhere near the eye.

As of a few minutes ago, the eye was directly over St. Thomas. It didn't go as far north as expected. I don't see it passing 70 miles north of SJU. Maybe a little, but not much at the rate it is moving. WNW at 14, sustained at 185. STT is seeing gusts of 45, but the worst comes when it gets West of STT.

Well I do know this super hurricane will increase the already intense exodus out of PR, and likely many would not go to Florida, a lowlying area also predicted to get battered by this hurricane. The most popular spot will probably be switched from Florida back up north to states like Pennsylvania, NJ, NY, Connecticut, Ohio& Virginia. This is a bad decade for PR, economy down the drain, social unrest, worsening of already high crime poverty n unemployment, zika virus, and now this catergory 5 hurricane about to smack the ***** out of PR.

Been in contact with my PR Island family and a few friends most of this day via cellphone calls, texts, and even FB. So far, everyone on my "I'M WORRIED ABOUT YOU" list appears to be ok.

Hoping everyone's loved ones - who posts on this site - is as good if not better than my own.

This too shall pass.

St Thomas got hit bad. As did those other small islands. The wall doesnt need to touch Haiti to cause destruction there.

My DILs family is in Vega Baja, too. All good.

We, on the other hand, are expecting a direct hit in Savannah, so will start the harrowing drive north tomorrow. Ugh.
